Having had a bad experience here earlier in this year, I was pleased to have 2 much better experiences since. The hotel staff went it of their way to be helpful and for the second time I was upgraded to a suite. since I normally use my priority points to stay here that was very generous of them. The staff had been slow and unhelpful but seem to either be new or better trained.

We had a car so the ten minutes out of town didn't bother us for the couple of days we stayed in late September- there is also a shuttle bus right at the door.
At the upper end of our Holiday Inn experiences, not quite the same standard as Nottingham but clean and comfortable. We had a front facing room and didn't have the noise problems others have had but it was cold and we didn't open the windows.
The girl on the front desk when we arrived completely missed us walking up she was so busy on her smartphone... She did apologize profusely and for the rest of our stay was very helpful !

Considering the cost I expected better service, I wouldnt stay with a holiday inn again. I prefer a family run place with less mod cons and more customer service.
