“Butler's Guest House is great!”

I love this guest house. The Butler's are the most hospitable people, and are obviously doing something they love. They are friendly and thoughtful.
The house is your typical Aberdeen granite building, and once you're inside it is lovely and clean. Very nicely decorated and again..ever so clean.
The breakfast is great..made to order! or..you can just pick cereal, yogourt etc. Very nice and great coffee too.
I really enjoyed chatting with Sheena, the owner..she is very much customer service oriented and knows her hospitality business inside out. I can't fault them in the least. I slept well, was very comfortable and the bed sheets was so soft. Not your typical skin scraping nightmares at lesser establishments! Walking distance to the train station..very easy. Great location.
I also appreciated the free wifi As a solo traveller I felt very safe here.
I'd return again and again to Butler's..they are just lovely..they know their business. Tops! .

“Excellent place, no doubts”

I was in Aberdeen for four nigths for a conference.
This place is close to the city centre. It took me minutes to reach the bus stop to get a bus to the airport on my way back. Many restaurants not very far from here.

The place itself was great (may be I liked it even more becasue I was coming from an okay-ish London hostel and anything would feel great!). Clean linen, towels, amenities, hospitality trays, free wifi (slow, adn you cannot watch youtube), TV even in the small room, no closet in the small room, but some storage space served my functions well.

They did not offer the cooked breakfast while I was there becasue of refurbishings. But their light breakfast was better than many other hotels. Plenty of choices and Sheena will make you some toast and tea if you like. They give you small maps of the area and will generally help you out with any issues.

Do not think again. This place is not luxurious, but it is definitely very very comfortable.

I slept so comfortably, I had trouble waking up each mornign!

“A good quality B&B with lovely breakfast & friendly owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 April 2010

I've stayed here a couple of times on business, after getting a bit bored with the more expensive chain hotels that are proliferating in Aberdeen - and have been very happy with it. It's a small (six rooms if I remember correctly) place on a quiet street about five minutes' walk from Aberdeen station and the main shopping areas. All the rooms except two are ensuite (the management offer the ones that aren't ensuite when the others are full, at rock bottom prices), and they have pretty much what you'd expect - tea making facilities, alarm clocks, etc. The bathrooms are small - but on both visits they've been spotlessly clean and with plenty of hot water, bathrobes and the like all included of course.

There's digital TV and free wireless internet that actually works, as well as a computer on the first floor for guests to use. The owners obviously put a lot of effort into running this business, and are very friendly and helpful, which is part of what makes this guest house stand out from the crowd - both times I have stayed here the breakfast has been very well prepared and with a surprisingly wide choice (including some quite local specialities). I'd recommend this as a good place to stay if you're after a friendly bed and breakfast that delivers a bit more than you'd expect, and am likely to return myself.

One thing to flag is that this is a central location and there's no back yard car park - so unless there's room on the streets, anyone driving would probably want to park in the multistory car park south of the station, which is about a block to the north (and which has plenty of space).

“A decent place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2008

We stayed there for one night and had quite a pleasant stay. Do not expect too much from it, but its a decent place. The room was just enough for the two of us and the bathroom was pretty good. We were late 15 minutes checking out and had to be reminded to vacate the room.

“Great location, lovely people, decent room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2008

This is a very nice B&B near the heart of Aberdeen. Parking is a little troublesome as a result - there is on-street parking around the B&B although you have to pay & display after 6pm and before 8am.

The room itself was very clean and as one would expect really. It is worth noting though that the room we had, an ensuite double, has the shower separate to the toilet and sink, so if you don't want to be seen in the nuddy by your partner, this my not be the room for you!!!

The owner, Sheena, was lovely. She mad us a fantastic breakfast and was very helpful in helping us decide where to go and visit, etc. So the service was top notch.

  • Liked — Sheena! She was lovely.
  • Disliked — The parking (or lack of). However, this is due to the central location of the B&B.
