We've stayed several times at this hotel and we continue to be impressed. The hotel is very nicely furnished to a high standard, clean and too quality, especially for a budget chain hotel. The room was also very nice, with a powerful shower and a modern flat screen TV. Good for extra security is the lift being key card protected to reach the bedroom levels. WIFI worked very well in all areas including the bedroom. The first 30mins each day is free and I felt £10 for 24hrs was good value. £5 for an hour less so!
Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful and I congratulate the General Manager who must be responsible for generating the can-do friendly culture. He also took time to welcome and speak with several guests including ourselves.
A good complimentary buffet breakfast selection is provided as well, with great tasting coffee and freshly baked croissants (the best we've ever had in a Holiday Inn Express and we've stayed in loads of them around planet Earth).
The hotel is based outwith the city centre, however there's a frequent bus service (with the bus stop directly by the entrance of the hotel) which only costs £2.30p for a single journey and I believe a return is only another 50p on top. A taxi back in the evening cost us around £10. There's also ample free parking around the hotel if you're driving to it. The Exibition Centre is right next door, along with a full scale Holiday Inn (although like other reviewers we found the drinks very expensive and very bland tasting food on the evening of the 31st December in their bar area). We wish we'd eaten in our own hotel, which we believe offers a good selection of bar type snacks.
