We originally booked a room in Angel House but were moved just across the street to Serendipity because of a problem with our original room. I can't say enough about the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. My husband and I enjoyed our conversations (although brief) with both the father and son team who serve the two B&B's. Breakfast, while not the best we had in Ireland, was well done. All in all, Serendipity House was a functional place to stay for our visit to Derry, particularly to tour the sites associated with the Troubles and Bloody Sunday. However, our room itself was nothing special -- infact I might describe it as a bit shabby. While I loved the cute little lampshades on the bed tables and the brown accent wall, small things could have used a little extra TLC -- mildew in the shower and bubbling paint due to water damage, dirty strings for the light pulls, and a stain on the comforter. While we don't necessarily regret our stay, I would caution people reading the reviews not to have too high of expectations on the condition of the house.
