Quite frankly, this place is too nice to be called a hostel. Yes, there are shared dorm rooms (probably individual rooms too - I'm not sure) but that is about where the comparison with a hostel ends. It has just had a big revamp and looks more like a gorgeous, stately B&B. You'll be invited to go out and enjoy the great local nightlife, Irish music, etc, but it might be hard to tear yourself away from the fabulous living room. Relaxing sofas, big modern TV, chandeliers, and a great crew of staff. Importantly for me, cleanliness is really important to the people here. I found that in most of Ireland and the UK the quality of hostels was pretty poor, so I was pretty excited to stay at such a nice one in Derry.
