We stayed in Denvirs Hotel in Downpatrick last weekend and all i can say is fantastic stuff!! We were told my the barman that it was an old coaching house dating back to the 1600's! A real nice old feel about the place, something myself and my partner both enjoyed very much.
We stayed in room 4, a large room with a double bed and single bed, along with shower and bath facilities, tv, kettle etc as to be expected - it was however the sleigh beds that we loved and gave a great atmosphere to the room. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night and we were served by a young gentleman called Colum, from start to finish he was excellent. Our food as we were informed was all local product, something i thought was fantastic to be able to say. Our food was fantastic, as was the wine and Guinness we had.
We finished our evening off in the front bar where there was a local musician playing in the corner of the bar - we had a great night. The barman William was a pleasure to talk to and great entertainment.
Ignore negative comments below as this place really is a gem of place and should be visited - even if only for a meal - but dont miss it! We loved it and will be back!
