“Hosts very friendly and kind but accommodation poor.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2009

We stayed at Ni Eoghain Lodge which had a great Garden and the hosts were kind friendly people. They made us tea and cakes when we arrived and allowed us to bring in fish and chips for supper. However our room was very small and had no drawers or wardrobe except for a cupboard in the bathroom where anything hung in it got damp. The lighting in the room was very poor and even with the centre light and two side lamps there was insufficient light to read by. The shower over the bath could not be used due to the fact that the hot water was so hot that by the time sufficient cold had been mixed in, there was insufficient pressure to maintain a flow of water. The room was cold even though there was a radiator but this was hidden by one of the beds. There was no hospitality tray although advertised as such and no TV. There was however a lounge with a TV and a roaring log fire. The property was not very easy to find especially in the dark and there was no lighting from the car park to the house. Not a good idea when you are 76 and have osteoporosis. And last but not least, the place didn't look anything like the photo on the website.

“Phenomenal Garden, Delicious Breakfast, Friendly Host”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2008

A wonderful little place that exceeded our expectations. Modest home with basic rooms - twin beds were comfortable. Noel was a gracious, friendly host and his wife cooked the best breakfast we ate in Ireland (especially the sausage, which I usually find kinda creepy). The garden is absolutely glorious - won awards last year for being the best in Ulster. Take time for a stroll through them for some of the best scenery in the region. Would suggest two improvements: shower could benefit from good scrub (it's only OK as is); VERY tough to find, but so is everything else in Ireland. Ask for directions and watch carefully for signs. Pleasant, peaceful place to stay while visiting Armagh City.

“Beautiful home and gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2006

We were warmly welcomed at Ni Eoghain Lodge and provided with some tea and scones on our arrival. Our room was spacious, warm and the the ensuite washroom had a bath!

Kathleen and Noel McGeown were gracious hosts - since we were travelling by bus, we didn't have access to a car. Noel drove us into town more than once, and Kathleen called us a taxi when we needed one.

The best part of our stay was exploring the acres of gorgeous gardens surrounding the property and messing around with the two resident dogs.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
