I originate from Belfast and return 3-4 times per year. After finding the Days a few years ago I constantly return. The hotels central position in Belfast is great for either a short walk into the city or along the “golden Mile”. Free car parking is a definite bonus in a city where it seems like you need to take out a second mortgage to park your car.
I have had some minor concerns in the past which were resolved promptly. Melissa Eadie, the general manager made a point to contact me personally. As you can see she also reads each review which is comforting. All the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Nothing seems too much trouble.
For – We were lucky this trip as we were upgraded to executive room 108 for the start of our stay. The room was very clean.
Against- slight evidence of mould starting on the lower part of the shower screen and tiles. The shower had less pressure than a cat urinating. Wi-Fi became unusable around 5-6 pm. I assume from everyone returning to the hotel and logging in to the internet. As seen in other pictures the bedside lamps were not the most upright objects – design problem.
Because we had a family bereavement halfway through our stay and our son needed to join us the hotel kindly moved us to a family room for our last two nights. This room again was clean and well presented. Shower pressure just as bad as the other room. Wi-Fi was even worse. It seems the higher you go in the building the Wi-Fi gets worse. I took my computer down to the reception area.
I see in an earlier review someone complaining about the Wi-Fi and Melissa asked if they had reported it to reception. I did not because I thought it would be a major technical issue over which reception would have little control. I now realise I should have reported this issue.
Breakfast was good, maybe a little pricey given many cheaper breakfast places in the vicinity. I did not use the restaurant in the evening.
The points I am whittling on about are very minor and will not deter me from returning in the near future. Truly a great value for you money hotel.
