“We will definitely be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We have just returned from a weekend break in the Ramada Plaza and we are all agreed we will definitely do this again....it was a really good weekend.We are a family group of 13 and booked family rooms which were very well equipped,immaculately clean and grouped together so we weren't chasing up and down corridors looking for each other.We dined in The Green Room on Fri night and were seated at the large oval " chef's table" which was a big hit with everyone as it was a perfect fit for the large party.The waiter service was the best we have ever encountered especially as we had 2 young children at table which can be tiresome sometimes,but they handled every request with courtesy and good humour.The food was excellent ....both in quality and quantity and the presentation was beautiful.Prior to leaving home we had arranged to eat in the city centre on our 2nd night but unanimously agreed to scrap those plans and booked the same table for our Sat night meal too....we weren't disappointed and were impressed at how well the waiters remembered the children's likes and dislikes.We made full use of the pool throughout our stay and enjoyed walks along the towpath to work off the gorgeous food.I cannot praise this place highly enough...the surroundings,the comfort,the facilities,the food and most especially the great staff.

Room Tip: We were in 204,205,206 and 208 and experienced no noise at all.

Dear Ms Reynolds,

Thank you for posting your recent comments, but I feel I must reply to the undeserved comments.

When you arrived @ the hotel @ approximately 6.50pm, my receptionist ( Christine ) checked our reservation system but was unable to locate your reservation. I have been assured that she asked “How & When” the reservation was made. Your response was earlier in the day.

Christine then inquired as to how you were quoted, stating that our rate ( New Year Eve ) was currently £99.00 room only, but agreed to honour the £75.00 that you were quoted over the telephone.

I myself spoke to the Encore following your review to confirm the rate that they had charged which was exact the same as Christine agreed.

Upon arrival, according to Christine there was never any mention of “Ramada Hotel Belfast City Centre”. Had there been as in the past we would have called the Ramada Encore to inquire if you had a reservation with them.

According to my receptionist & in my presence the next morning upon your departure was when you mentioned the “Cathederal”. This is when Christine called the Encore & found out that you had been booked into them & that a “Non-Arrival Charge” had gone through on your credit card. Christine then explained that you would need to contact the “Encore” directly about the charge being waived.

It seems from your comments above that the “Encore” insisted on the charges remaining & that you vented you anger on our TripAdvisor site.

We had over New Years Eve 235 residents, plus two weddings & 2 private functions totalling an additional 435 dining guests, I am happy to say that we did not received one negative comment on the hotel accommodation or the quality of the food. We had guests rebooking for NYE 2012 as they enjoyed themselves so much.

“Excellent value for money, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

The Orchid Suite, access to the private executive lounge with free drinks, access to the health club, 3 course meal and Breakfast for 2 people (for just above £100) is an amazing deal!!!
The suite was lovely and had a king size four poster bed and a lounge. There were 2 large lcd screens in the room, but unfortunately the remote controlled both tv sets at the same time which got a little bit frustrating. Also, the bathroom could have been a little big bigger and more modern (power shower, or jacuzzi bath would have been nice).
The access to the private executive lounge was well worth it, especially when we got unlimited free drinks. The 3 course meal was very pleasant, apart from maybe the desserts. The breakfast was great and well worth it! As for the Health club it is a L.A fitness and is very well equipped and has a nice large pool.

The reason I only gave a 4* is because of the service. We had to ask for a cot 3 times before eventually getting one. Asked once at 4 p.m, another time at 7:30 p.m and finally at 9:15 p.m. We also inquired as to where were our bathrobes. Room service came back and just gave us one instead of two. I asked as to why they only gave us 1 rather than 2, and they answered that they would get us another one. But it never came! At that stage, I could not be bothered chasing them down again!

Value for money = 5*
Comfort = 5*
Facilities = 5*
Service = 1*

Would highly recommend it overall despite the poor service.

Room Tip: Make sure you request the best possible room when booking.

“Birthday Celebrations at Ramada Dec 18th”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

My family and partner organised a 'special birthday' gathering for me to dine at the hotel's carvery and i must say i had a wonderful time. The carvery was excellent and i do like my food 'hot' and was not disappointed. The choice was more than i expected and my family and friends also had the same opinion. The hotel decor is so lovely and i was treated to a stay for a few days and the room was fabulous - we had the 'Champayne' suite. Breakfast was another hit with it's continental breakfast and large fry-up,cannot fault it. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and there was a 'Santa' which was a lovely touch - not only for the children, but us adults as well! There is also fitness suite, nail bar, hair salon etc to avail of
so i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - even to just drop in and have dinner, drinks, coffee whatever. I certainly will be back to eat in it - especially the carvery. A big thank you to all the staff.
