“hospitality personified”

This is a lovely place to stay in Belfast, with lovely people running it.

Very pleasant accommodation, room great, all facilities worked well but it's the little things which I appreciated and here's a few:

Enquired about early arrival to leave luggage so I could wander off into town unencumbered. Olive could not have been more helpful and even offered a pot of tea and some home made xmas cake (both delicious) when I arrived.

Public transport and tourist info excellent but a little extra info on something I mentioned an interest in was found online (unasked) before I headed out, which was sheer friendliness and hospitality.

The room's welcome tray and toiletries were a cut above what you find in many places. These, alongside a quality TV - with all channels working - and a proper Roberts radio at the bedside, made it a most comfortable experience.

Returning that evening I found a warm welcome lamp lit, the curtains drawn and the bedlinen turned down - nice touch!

Breakfast options were excellent, my choice perfectly cooked and wheaten bread delicious (wish I'd asked Roger if it was home made and where the marmalade came from!)

Anybody who seeks a place where a little more thought, care, individuality and quality is put in - and is happy to pay just a little more for that - should stay at Ravenhill. It's worth it.

Room Tip: rm 6 very pleasant

We had the pleasure of spending 9 days at Ravenhill Guesthouse last month. The service, meals, atmosphere and cleanliness were impeccable. Roger and Olive were most helpful with everything from directions to history, and gave us such personal service that we felt like we were leaving family when we left. I would highly recommend Ravenhill to anyone visiting Belfast!

“Warm comfortable and welcoming but not intrusive.”

Close to the city centre and the uni on a good bus route we were made welcome and offered a drink before leaving our luggage and going out and about. We were given keys to come and go and advice about the sights to see. We returned late to find the sitting room waiting for us with a real fire in the grate. A comfy quiet bed for the night and a power shower before a pleasant well presented breakfast with papers to read. All that for very sensible money. Couldn't fault it.

“Ravenhill Guesthouse”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

It was only 2 blocks to the bus stop for city center. Buses ran every 10 min and it was a 15 min bus ride. We walked a half hour to the Museum. Roger was a first class host. The rooms and food were also first class. The B&B was one of the best we stayed in. It was a little more expensive then other guesthouses in November, considering it was not in the city. However, we would stay there again. A great neighborhood, with restaurants and pubs within 2 blocks. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Cannot comment on that. Our room faced the street and was perfectly ok.

“Short stay in Belfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Once again I was made so welcome at this B&B. Late arrival after my flight from Stansted and was greeted by Roger who instantly made me feel at home. Stayed alone but this was no problem and the breakfast is amazingly fresh and very well cooked. Would always recommend this to friends and family. It is such a short walk into town. Look forward to staying again would not bother looking anywhere else.
