“Basic but Central”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

It is what you expect and pay for at Travelodge. Cheap and no frills. Was fine for a couple of nights.

We had the 'lovely' view of the bins behind the pubs nearby that others have posted on here, but we just closed the curtains.

Room was small but cosy, bathroom was even smaller, a shower cubicle might have been better as no one could fit in the bath anyway!

My only real annoyance was the reception staff seem to spend a lot of time in the office behind reception and there is nothing really to alert them that guests are waiting at the desk.

It is however very central and everything is walking distance. I would recommend the city bus tour and Harlem cafe for breakfast was fabulous and a couple mins walk from the hotel.

Overall the hotel was fine for a central base.

“Great for a Quick Stayover in Belfast City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Hotel situated in a perfect location and usually for a brilliant price just what I've come to expect now from a Travelodge.

After a quick flight over with bmibaby, It's a 2-minute walk from the Europa bus / rail station and litrally smack-bang behind the Crown bar. This was my third stay now and it WON'T be my last. This time I was staying in a twin bed room (503). While it did it's job and was generally clean it could do with a nice refresh soon, i.e the bathroom is looking very worn and parts of the room are looking very tired, especially when compared to the more modern rooms I have stayed in on lower floors, although this is definately one of the older buildings Travelodge have so I guess they are getting there? Infact it's the only hotel I have stayed in for a long time that still has real keys for the rooms.

The reception staff are usually friendly, to the point but very efficient. If only all hotels could have such a quick check-in / check-out procedure! As we were staying for a short leisure break this time we enquired at the reception about a couple of attractions to which they were only too happy to call for us and find more information.

Finally as we pre-booked breakfast, the breakfast option at this hotel is slightly different to most other Travelodge, as it is making use of an adjoined restaurant ''olio's''. The breakast was very nice with a choice of help yourself cereals, fruit and yogurt. However, I do prefer the usual concept of having buffet style hot options too rather than it being brought to you on a plate automatically which it is here. This is only a minor point but wasnt aware at the time of choosing the option.

Room Tip: Higher floors facing the front of the hotel are the best for slightly better views. Rear facing roo...

“Basic stopover”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Stayed here recently for a weekend in Belfast and as with any travelodge it was basic and clean.
A little dated but our room was neat and tidy, hot bath and good tv reception.
Close enough to the city centre as well as restaurants and pubs.

“Dirty hole!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

So people say you pay for what you get... well, we paid way over the odds for what we got! Couldn't fault the location (view from room was AWFUL though) - room was dirty, smelt damp, tv didn't work (who has a box of a tv with only analog channels these days!) bed clothes that used to be white were grey, bathroom discusting, toilet was black, sink & shower (ewww lets just say), scared incase I caught anything of the mouldy fittings. Definately would not stay and will not stay here again. have another long weekend in belfast coming up very shortly and I am so glad we are booked in somewhere else!

Room Tip: none - don't stay here!

Dear Lyndsey 2405
Thank you for taking time to leave your review.
I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. The description you gave does not reflect the standards in our hotel and we have no record of any complaints being raised with the hotel.
Our linen is supplied by a highly reputable laundry company who supply a number of hotels in Belfast. With regard to the television which “did not work” as you mentioned you were able to receive 9 analogue channels and radio stations, however we are planning to upgrade all of our televisions with flat screen digital tv’s shortly.
Regards

“Perfect for a night out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

person found this review helpful

Stayed here in September 2011 for one night as we had driven to Belfast for a gig and fancied a night out.
As anyone would know, you get what you pay for and Travelodges deliver just that.
The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were extremely friendly and our request for extra pillows and towels was no problem for them.
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we were still suffering (quite a bit!) from the night before but it seemed like a decent enough meal.
The free WIFI in reception was handy aswell.
Overall, due to the fact that it was about £50 for the night, this hotel is hard to beat for a cheap stay over.
