For a guesthouse, this place was good. It is right in the wealthiest section of Belfast, very leafy and safe. My single room was extremely small, but the accommodating staff moved me into a bigger room (#6) which was free at the time.
There are a lot of guesthouses on this street, and all the owners seem to know each other. The Eglantine was good value for money- the breakfast alone was worth it! The perfect Irish fry-up.
It's not a fancy place- you must share a toilet and shower in the hall. It has a certain shabby elegance to it, though. My room overlooked the backs of people's gardens, so you feel like you're not really staying in the city.
The staff was very attentive, carrying up suitcases and offering advice on restaurants.
