“very clean, cheap and central for city”

I regularly use this hotel as a cheap base for shopping in Swansea. Also very handy for exploring the nearby Gower peninsular by car. Wind Street the eat and drink centre for Swansea is only one street away. Yes the rooms are basic but clean and functional and ideal for the aforementioned activities particularly ehen you can book for as little as £10 a night. An absolute bargain.

“Basic, Clean, and Cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed here on a Saturday night on a Hen night. The Hotel is basic but clean. I can't understand all the awful reviews...what do people expect for £15 a night? You have to be realistic!!! If you want luxury then go somewhere else and pay twice the price.

The location is really good for a night out. The room was warm, bed sheets clean and had plenty of fresh clean towels and spare bedding if needed. Of course the only complementory products is going to be hand soap...it's not the Ritz!

The people on the desk are very helpful. If you want an iron/hairdryer or even phone charger then just ask at reception, as they are very accommodating. It has a downstairs bar for you to use and/or wait for friends etc.

HOWEVER, as we stayed on a Saturday night in a cheap hotel it was full of lots of young people on nights out coming back at all hours of the night, so its not very quiet. The hotel is centrally located so there is lots of passers by and traffic so its also noisy because of that.

I would recommend this place for a cheap one/two nighter and its MUCH BETTER than some of the cest pit hotels on Oystermouth Road!

“Hurry up and decorate.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My daughter and I stayed here last night as we managed to book the room for £15, cheaper than a taxi home from our night out we thought. I wish I had gone home and used the money towards the taxi fare. The room was basic and walls needed a coat of paint. The bed was clean but the two pillows were flat as pancakes and I had to borrow on from my friend in the next room. The black out blind didnt fit the entire window so light come through all night. There was no noise from anyother rooms and the room was nice and warm. We had 1 carton of milk between the two of us and there was no hair dryer. Also only 1 bath and hand towel. The girls on the reception were lovely and the hotel is very central. I would not stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for extra pillows and towels if there is more than 1 person staying.

“Not for me”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Although located central the hotel is a typical Travelodge and in need of a lick of paint. Parking is off site (5.50). The breakfast is quite basic.Although the price is ok i would not stop again as there are better hotels within walking distance (premiere Inn ) across the road and the Dragon hotel with onsite parking.

“I wouldn't subject my enemies to this place.....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Sometimes words fail me and they did when I first entered my room at this hotel. First the stench of TCP hit me and then the sight of the barren, gulag style room made my heart sink. The bed, which was a foot high from the floor housed a mattress where every coil and spring dug into your body, where the two slivers of pillow served no purpose and where the plastic 'bed wetting' sheet prevented any semblance of a good nights sleep. The bathroom was devoid of any complimentary toiletries bar a piece of soap that looked as if it would dissolve within first contact with water. There were two white plastic cups (the sort you can buy in a supermarket, 300 for 50p) in place of the standard glass tumblers which every other hotel can manage to provide. The toilet seat was not secured and threatened to slide off at any moment. Previous guest's pubes littered the bathroom and there were bogeys smeared on the walls. Breakfast was the saddest of spreads I've ever seen. Don't eat the cooked one. I managed a few mouthfulls and was left with a stomach upset for the next few days. Stick to cereal. The bread for the toast is so thin I'm sure they actually have it specially commissioned. No parking provided however a discount is given for parking in the NCP car park five minutes away. Not much fun when it's pouring with rain and you're hauling your luggage through Swansea's biggest pub/club district. £50 for one night not including parking which was an extra £9. For £30 more I could have spent a night in the Marriott with breakfast and on site parking however I was travelling with work and had no say in the matter!
