Cold bar & dining room with fireplace but no fire. Late meals, poor dinner, very limited menu if staying for more than one night. Meal ordered at 7 pm, lucky to get it by 8 pm. Asked for room with bath, given executive room with jacussi in bedroom!! which wasn't clean when turned on. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling & light fittings. Dirty shower with no light in en suite which was more like a corridor than a bathroom. Bed linen and towels in holes. At the end of 4 nights stay, would not honour room deal advertised on web site and confirmed by phone. Assistant manager very rude and manager didn't want to know. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!!

Pros:
Good location, comfortable large bed (in executive room), inexpensive (booked via booking.com), spacious room.

Cons:
- Small breakfast portion - 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 fried tomato (which was actually not fried), 1 bacon and 2 small triangle fried bread.
- Jacuzzi bath in bedroom - hair and dust in the tub, when filling water was a green / grey colour. Reported to senior staff - the response was one of disbelief but we received no apology.
- Sunday morning 7am - awoke to a drilling sound lasting 45 minutes.
- small shower in the spacious bathroom.

We stayed here in June 2009 and it is exactly what we what we wanted. Good rooms, good breakfast. Very good dinner on the saturday night. Close to the golf courses we were playing. Couldn't really ask for more. Well, maybe some 'Real ale' at the bar, but hopefully we'll get that when we return.
All our golf bookings done were by the hotel, so it really does make it a one-stop booking for a great weekend away.

I had expected more from a three star hotel at this price. Two night stay. Evening meal on the first night (Monday) with the hotel full, only three couples. Had an good exec room with terrace, three chairs one dirty white and one broken. To plug the kettle in you had to put it on the floor. All staff good. All food good.
