We arrived to Hotel early evening Saturday 7th January 2012, checked into room Topaz ,we dropped bags off and needed to go to meet friends so only had few minutes in the room.On our return it was clear that the Hotel entrance lobby is really the local pub it had a very noisy,heavy drinking bar not what you expect in 5 star residence bar so we decided on an early night.
Our room was so warm we could not stay in reception staff managed to switched on A/C and we could go back into room now 11pm. To our amazement the 5 star bed was singles zipped together, the quilt was not in the cover the valance was like a crumpled rag due to the time of
night we just sorted ourselves and tried to sleep.
The room was very dirty, the solid wood headboard you could write you name in dust, bedside tables were filthy, all the typical Moulton Brown toiletries you would expect in 5 star were present but used, broken pump dispensers just signs of no care within the housekeeping.
To make matters worse at breakfast 9.15 am which is table service, I waited 25 minutes then left without so much as an offer for a coffee.
When I checked out , receptionist asked me if I enjoyed my stay, not wanting confrontation I said no and I would be writing to management why. I paid my bill and the receptionist informed me that the Manager was in work and she would call me to discuss issues.
Later that morning I was called by the receptionist as the Manager was to busy on a Sunday morning to call and offered a 50% reduction in my bill, this demonstrated to me that the Manager could not even be bothered to find out what was wrong with my stay but would
reduce room rate.
Any manager would want to know why a guest is dissatisfied but not in this Hotel and I feel that is why the standards are so low.
Room Tip: Party here do not stay !
