Stayed in the boathouse rooms (2b - Beach). Good looking building, great room, warm welcome, staff friendly and very willing to go the extra mile. Excellent food in the restaurant.

Parking during the day problematic (have to use the public car parks which, even in January, were full). By night the boathouse building is illuminated by floodlights which shine directly into certain of the rooms making it difficult to sleep. Perhaps I was unlucky but there was also no hot water in the morning.

A mixture of the exceptionally good and the very poor.

We visited Patricks with rooms in April 2011 and stayed in the Turquoise room. The room was superbly decorated, and everything that I would want for my own room. The bathroom was lovely, and the toiletries added a bit of something special.

We had heard great things about the food, so out expectations were very high. On the first night that we ate there we were a little disappointed. The food came with a complimentary asparagus moose aperitif. This was delicious, but was similar to what my boyfriend had ordered for main. His pasta was fairly tasteless, and swimming in oil. The service was good, but we did feel a bit like we were sat in the dining lounge for an old people's home, as the decor was really dated.

The second night we ventured down the street and found a lovely bistro which had a much better atmosphere and delicious food. We wish we had found this on our first evening.

Overall a pleasant stay, but did not meet our high expectations.

Myself and my girlfriend went to Patricks last night 5th November for my birthday meal. Must say its an impressive looking building inside and out. We booked for 8:30 but didn't get into the restaurant till close on 9pm but were waited on immediately for drinks in waiting lounge when we arrived. We had bread and olives and a chicken soup appartiff while we waited for our meals which was nice. To start I had the Leek and Potatoe soup with soft cheese which was excellent and for mains I had Rack of Lamb with Parsnip puree and vegetables etc and was probably the best lamb I had tasted in a long time, very tender indeed. My girlfriend had Mussels to start which were also excellent followed by the Pumpkin Curry with rice which again was superb. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We are in our 30's but the age of the customers mostly ranged mainly from 50's up to maybe 80's and a place you would go for a speical occassion and was really enjoyable. One criticism I would say is that there was no back round music which I think would give it that extra good atmosphere feeling, but overall experience was excellent and we will return again in the near future.
