“New years Eve Gala Dinner Dec 31st 2011”

We love spending summer on the beach and opposite is the Oxwich Bay Hotel where we will have our lunch and drinks, The food is lovely and the location is perfect. So when we saw they were doing a New Yrs Eve gala dinner with B&B stay we decided to go for it as it was our 1st New Yrs Eve together and wanted it to be special.. The room was lovely, overlooking the beach and sea :) we started off with champagne and canapys then onto our own table which was decorated beautifully, the food was fantastic and we saw the New Year in sitting by the log burner drinking Baileys watching the fireworks going off on the beach. Perfect... the Full Welsh breakfast was superb the following morning... Thank you for a lovely stay...

we took the cottage and some of the rooms in the hotel. the really nice thing about the cottage is that although it is not separate and perfect for families you still eat in the hotel so none of that self catering thing of having to take all your own food etc - there is no kitchen but lots of beds

Room Tip: wonderful family hotel with access to brilliant beach for children and dogs - unsophisticated and si...

“Lovely Hotel well worth a Visit”

My husband and I stopped at this hotel the first weekend after New Year. I booked this before looking at reviews which is unlike me and was a little worried after doing so!
I had no need.
Granted from the outside a little tired looking, but what a location!! - Right on the sea front.
Staff welcoming and room absolutely stunning. We stopped in the Oxwich suite and the view was second to none. Recently refurbished and very nicely done.
We found the food tasty and well cooked, we sat in the bar as we had our dog with us. This is an superb location for dog lovers and there were many. The bar although small was warm and welcoming. Certainly worth a visit.

“Fantastic wedding at an amazing venue!”

We have just celebrated our wedding day at the Oxwich Bay Hotel and it was amazing!
I was a little worried as we were having the ceremony and reception all in the same room. This meant two room changes, from ceremony to reception and then for the evening do with the dance floor being put down, all in miserable December weather. However, the transition was flawless! The room was made to look amazing by the staff - we could not have been happier with it. Guests were offered welcome drinks in the conservatory area and others went into the main bar whilst this was going on.
The reception food and the buffet were both excellent - Tasty, hot and plentiful all of our guests commented on how nice the wedding breakfast was! Service again was also excellent. The whole day was perfect.
We had booked out the whole hotel and the majority of the cottage rooms. Everyone was very happy with their rooms and the prices were resonable. Some rooms are being updated but they were all very clean.
Nothing was too much trouble, with some guests asking for a high chair or extra blankets - all requests were dealt with quickly by the excellent staff. Breakfast was also excellent with lots of variety and choice.

All in all, we could not have asked for better service or attention to detail. The hotel makes for an excellent winter wedding venue when the summer marquee is out of use, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a classy, intimate and very helpful venue.
Thank you Oxwich Bay Hotel!

“Great spot for a stop after bracing beach walk.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

The beach at low tide is huge and the classic semi circle bay is very pretty. People are out all weathers digging for worms , or trying to find cockles and razor fish, though I saw very few larger shells. Wear boots in winter, the sand is very wet, and too cold for bare feet! The ancient church is worth a visit before heading into the only building around. Sheltered by the hills Oxwish Arms looks very pretty with palm trees out front and some flowers still trying to bloom. Inside there is a welcome fire by the bar though not an original coal hearth. The dining section was full but one of our party had booked ahead. Food was typical pub fare with a few more exciting entries on the menu. People seemed content with their plates but my risotto was bland and a bit overcooked. The mention of blue Stilton and walnuts had sounded tempting with the pumpkin and honey but those flavors did not come through and I wondered if they had forgotten to add them to the dish!
Still it was hot hearty fare for tired walkers in from the cold . They had a selection of ciders on tap which certainly quaffed the thirst!

Room Tip: We visited the restaurant but it is quite a small hotel and would be very quiet. They had a large t...
