just stayed at the celtic as I was attending a charity fundraising ball. First off, I have to say that my text box is full of messages saying how wonderful the venue was and what great food. Well done chef and team, can't be easy creating amazing food for 300 to such a high standard. The check in was flawless, my room wasn't ready so the receptionist took my mobile and called me when it was. He rooms are lovely, spacious and well supplied with good quality coffee and sockets.
We arrived back in our rooms at 1.30am after the ball ended and the complimentary turn down service was a delightful touch especially the little welsh cakes and water.
Breakfast was OK, though very busy and no real savoury options for non meat eaters which was a pity.
I have but two small critiques which the hotel might consider. For rooms facing the golf course, some voiles along the windows woukd be good as you don't wan to keep closing the curtains when you want to change. Secondly, consider steam irons, the in room irons make it very difficult to iron creased dress shirts and when one has to look ones best a good iron can make or break the evening.
I should also mention the bathroom which was bright and uber clean, one might even say sparkling.
Apart from those little niggles, this is hotel most certainly deserves its 5 star status and with extremely helpful and charming staff, I can see why it is so busy. Well done on an excellent product.
