I stayed 2 nights attending the Heineken Cup Final. Not enough hotel rooms for the big events, especially when Wales are not involved and there are many visitors. Kept trying until I got this did cancel other bookings in lesser places.

Excellent location although one way system means know where you are going. The hotel is opposite a multi story Car park.

Right at the heart of the city convenient for the night life, castle, and stadium

The price reflected the event. I was allocated a disabled room, fine, with a large adapted bathroom which I didn’t especially like.

I am not usually a fan of interior facing rooms, prefer a view to the outside, but here I suspect it cut out noise. Comfortable bed helped with a good night’s sleep.

Have stayed in a few other hotels in Cardiff and this is amongst the best.

My daughter and I had a lovely weekend break here . We booked it because of city centre location and the spa .Unfortunately we didn't realise it was on Cardiff's main nightclub/ bar street and it was very noisy. On check in we asked for a room at the back but were told that there were no twins rooms at the back. The rooms had double glazing and it wasn't too bad up until midnight but then the night club music started you could hear the thump thump of it through the double glazing and when the night clubs emptied around 3 there was a lot of noise. It may not bother some people but I'm a light sleeper and I like the window open a little at night which was impossible here. Otherwise the hotel was great , lovely rooms, bathrooms and nice pool and spa .If you get room at the back or go midweek it should be perfect. They don't have parking so remember to factor in £30 for two nights in the car park opposite the hotel

Last week I had a short break in Cardiff and chose to stay at this hotel for its location and good name. The desk staff were efficient and welcoming, and when I found my room rather dark and depressing they put me in a room facing the town hall and museum, which was light and airy. The room had all one would expect in a hotel of this standard and was much bigger than those in many of the new hotels.
The pool was good, being big enough to swim in without all the odd shapes they seem to add to make it look more inviting, and the changing room was excellent.
The restaurant and bar serve the same food, more or less, and the standard was again very good indeed. Nothing was overpriced, not even the wine.
The service in all departments was efficient and friendly.
One word of warning. As I checked out on a Friday afternoon a group of noisy young women arrived to stay for a hen night. As it was then only 3.00 p.m. I hate to think of the noise they would make arriving back from their night out. It seem that they often have such groups at the week-end.

Have had a number of overnight stays here. There is much to recommend this hotel. No on-site parking but, on presentation of the carpark ticket at checkout there is 20% off the NCP carpark immediately opposite
Our welcome at Reception was warm, friendly and efficient. Rooms are modern, spacious, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Our dinner, bed and breakfast deal was a good choice. The set dinner menu (limited, but sensible choice) proved a real hit and wine prices are very reasonable. Breakfast was also of high quality.
Only one down side to this visit. Don't arrange a stay when Cardiff City are about to win a place in a Wembley semi-final!! Celebrating fans at the pub opposite cast a serious cloud over our sleep in the early hours...... However this won't put us off staying here again. The quality of the hotel and the convenience of its city centre position make it an obvious choice.
