My family and I attended this hotel in early December having booked what we thought was a Christmas meal. The 'festive option' on the menu was a pan-fried turkey breast 'with all the trimmings' we were assured. Those of us who opted for the turkey were bitterly disappointed at the poor offering which was served - very few 'trimmings' being evident. Luckily others in our party had other main courses which were O.K. The other courses on offer were also all O.K. except that Christmas pudding wasn't on offer. Two of our party had to return drinks twice as the mixers used were clearly 'flat' having been left for some time without being sealed.
Looking around this fine hotel [which we know well and have eaten at regularly for over 20 years and stayed at] there was little sign of decoration for Christmas - a few strands of tinsel and a bauble or two. We certainly had no crackers with our supposedly festive meal........
This was all a big let-down and I still can't believe that the hotel had made so little effort for the festive season.
The price of this meal was certainly not cheap - Manor Parc's Sunday lunch costs above average for this area (£21+) but we normally gladly pay it because of the setting and quality of food and service.
This experience has shown that even the best of places can let standards slip on occasion but to seemingly be unaware of it is worrying to say the least.
