i went and stayed there over night with a couple of friends and i accidently left a bag of brand new expensive shoes in the room so wen we came back to the hotel that evening i asked the receptionist about it and she was very rude and they sed nothing had been found ,when they made no effort to look for them.so the only explination i can think of is that someone from the staff or maids department stole them. the hotel also says refurbished well i cant say i noticed that, it was still dirty and horrible looking and the staff were all soo rude! NEVER NEVER NEVER stay in this hotel!!! its the worst hotel i have ever stayed in in my life!!

Have just stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel was fine. It was being refurbished during our stay. Lots of vans so must be a big refurbishment. The bathrooms are a bit dated but our room was clean and the staff friendly. It's probably better for people with cars as the bus stop is about 15 minutes walk. I would stay here again.

The hotel as in need for updating or blowing up! The rooms were dirty grotty and smelt!
No mattress protectors and all mattress were heavy stained , the pull out bed had about a years worth of dirty cover it and the sofa had half the fabric missing showing foam . I had to go out to find a local shop to buy a plug in air freshner as the smell was so bad.
Towels where not clean dirty, we also had to buy cleaning wipes to clean bathroom we didnt dear shower.
We felt we could touch anything , the hotel made us feel dirty. which was not a nice feeling. i think sleeping in a cardboard box would have been better than this hotel and staff didnt seemed bothered
NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN IN A MILLION YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stayed here one night for event in city centre. me and partner had one room whilst rest of friends shared another. we had to wait for our room to be ready when arriving. the staff were not overly cheerfull and seemed quite annoyed when i asked for directions for local shop. our room wasn't too bad seemed clean although I didnt explore to far after hearing horror stories. our friends room on the other hand was not so pleasant. the bed broke when they sat on in, the room was designed for 3 but the third bed was a fold out sofa bed which was small and uncormfortable the fold out part under the sofa had mould on the under side of matteress. my friend ended up sleeping on the floor. there was a 5 mile drive to get to the town centre. was fine for us as there was a group of us but again the recpetion staff were not keen to help with taxi numbers etc. the time we were asking the recption was empty so this was not due to business either. if we were are staying in a hotel it would be obvious we dont have local knowlege and would ask for some advise!!! one good point was the vending machines which sold good range of snacks and toiletries aswell very good idea, but to be honest that was probably the only good feauture. breakfast could be brought the next morning from the resturant next door (with equally friendly staff :( ) at £9.99 a head. judging by the hotel we gave this a miss and headed for the local mcdonalds.
pretty much as i expected cheap and not so cheerful accomodation keeping up the travel lodge traditon. if you just want somewhere to get a few hours sleep fine but if your after something a bit more special dont bother with here
