We checked into the Sleeperz in Cardiff and was welcomed by their friendly staff. They offered us a map and educated us on where to eat and go, something we were not expecting from such a "bigger" hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful and was sure to go out of their way to make our stay a good one.
The rooms were small compared to usual standards, however this proved to be a plus. I have stayed in different hotels, in different parts of the world and I really dug their minimalist approach. The rooms at Sleeperz are very modern and contemporary, yet not tacky and by no means is it pretentiously designed. The beds were extremely comfy and the "pull back" blinds were awesome and ensured that no light seeped through the window. The rooms also offer a full selection of teas and coffees (at no extra charge), an interesting safe (mounted into the box-spring of the bed) for your valuables as well as a mounted LCD TV, which was a definite bonus. They offered free WIFI (with a 25MB limit, so watch out downloaders) and a premium package (1GB) for £5 . I was unaware of the bandwidth restrictions, and my internet went down after a few itunes downloads. The staff was generous enough to replenish my account, free of charge and kindly explained the internet restrictions
The only minor complaint I have is the fact that the shower is not concealed from the bathroom area, thus causing somewhat of a flood (even though this is their concept, as they have draining areas in the bathroom). It would be wiser to split the bathroom and shower with a sheet of glass. There might have been what appears to be mold on the shower tiles, however this could have been black caulking, as I did not take the time to inspect it. As I mentioned above, this is a minor nitpick and nothing that I have not seen before at most hotels I have stayed at.
All in all, I will definitely be returning to Sleeperz. At £55 a night with a location dead-set in the center of town, it is a must stay if you plan on visiting the beautiful city of Cardiff.
