We booked this break as a coach package and found it to be a great value trip. The hotel is fantastically placed for Snowdonia and the train station to the mountain is only 100 yards away (although when we stayed here the train was not working as it doesn't start running till late March)
The hotel was well run and in our experience, had very good staff.
At meal times we had a selection of meals to pick from and generally it would have catered for most tastes. The quality of the meals was good too. The dining area was a large room with an outer conservatory looking out ove the mountains and it was a pleasant atmosphere.
The hotel looks very prominent and is quite old generally but inside it is comfortable and well laid out. It had two bars and you were also able to order a selection of bar meals. Drinks were reasonably priced for a hotel although a glass of wine to us was rather expensive at £4.
Our room was warm, even though it had draughty windows (good curtains to stop the draught) and it had a modern flat screen tv. It also had tea and coffee making families which were topped up each day.
All in all, we both enjoyed our stay here, but only managed a short walk up to the waterfall due to the excursions on the coach. If we came again we would have more time to explore the mountain and lake, so we would probably return in our car next time.
