“Romantic Getaway.”

Having read lots of reviews, we decided to book a 2 night break here. We were met by Tim, a very friendly man and after a brief chat Tim showed us to our room. We stayed in the Robinson room which indeed was lovely.
We decided to walk into Betws-Y-Coed on the first evening as alot of reviews said it was a nice walk down a lane....totally wrong this is not a lane but a fairly busy road! Such a shame there is no pathway as it is pretty! So we got a taxi back and also booked a taxi for the following evening....just a tip: make sure you pre book taxi as they get very busy.
We booked a table at the Ty Gwn and the food was excellent..would reccomend.
Breakfast was nice at Afon Gwyn, however I was slightly unimpressed with the continental choice, as there was not alot to choose from at all, just cereal, yoghurt and fruit juice, was justexpecting a little more. However the cooked breakfast was good.
We would reccomend this guest house to our friends and would probably stay again ourselves.

Just watching the trip advisor program on channel 4 and remembered our wonderful stay at afon Gwyn sept 2010. Stunning Alice suite where we stayed in luxury, amazing breakfasts and great hospitality - DVDs, books etc all our disposal. Still remembering the waffles with fruit and maple syrup a year on! Would love to return and will recommend to friends - though not too many, want to keep it a bit of a secret!

“Wonderful Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We have just got back from a three night stay at Afon Gwyn. Tim was a fantastic host from the minute we arrived. Our room was five star and the breakfasts great. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area and will stay again next time we are in this area of Wales.

Just back from a 'get away from it all' early week break and had a fantastic time at Afon Gwyn. Superb accommodation, great hosts and amazing breakfasts. Couldn't recommend this place enough......will definitely be going back......Tom & Catherine, Ireland

Room Tip: Robinson Room has private sitting area outside - beautiful when sun shines!!

“Couldn't recommend it highly enough”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

If you're after a quiet, peaceful retreat with fantastic hosts in North Wales then I really can't see how you can do any better than the Afon Gwyn. To put the comments into context, on our way back we spent a night at The Lowry in Manchester, a five star hotel with all the trappings of service and comfort that you'd expect from a luxury hotel and yet would have both probably preferred to stay on an extra night here instead!
