Upon arrival they had no recollection of me booking a night there by e-mail, which wasn't exactly a great start. But they still had a room avaliable for me (pure luck, I guess, Betws gets really packed in summer), and I actually paid £5 less than the price quoted in the e-mail correspondence. (I paid £30 for a single ensuite, which I think is great value in this town.)
It's in the middle of the village, two minutes from the train, and within walking distance of both trails and restaurants. The full breakfast was good, and the room pleasant, although I wonder why some places still put wall-to-wall carpets in the bathroom. They also have a nice lounge for those who want to plan tomorrow's grand expedition, and a patio in the front which is very nice in the summer.
Worth a visit, but check twice that they have reserved a room for you.
