A fantastic cycling break was made even better by the warm hospitality, excellent food and tremendouse value for money at Church Hill House, great facilities for the tired cyclist (and walker), lots and lots of hot water and very comfortable and well appointed rooms. If a hearty and tasty breakfast is the order of the day then I can recommend the Church Hill to all readers, with second and third helpings for those that want them. We've been to pleanty of places in Betwys and this offers by far and away the best value. Note :- book ahead

At £25 per person, there are nicer places to stay. Our room smelled of smoke but was clean & cosy. No showers in rooms. The shower they did have could only manage a trickle (not agreeable after a hard days walking). The worst thing was the breakfast. Prison food would have been a treat. Except for the 'Weetabix', everything else was non-branded cheap tasteless rubbish. Even the bacon was too fatty and tough - too bargain-basement. In fact, they should just call themselves a 'B' for 'Bed' - forget the breakfast. Next time, we'll stay in a cheaper B&B and eat out for breakfast as Betwys has quite a few inexpensive and friendly cafes. We felt irritated when we left.
