i'll not bother you with a wordy review, so here are some good and bad bits about the campsite.
Good:
Position; if you are into watersports then bala lake offers pretty much all you want, with the national whitewater centre about 5 miles away.
Bad:
Position; if you are using it as a base for forays into snowdonia, think again. the A5 is so slow it takes an hour to get to betwsy coed, 20 miles away.
Only one sanitary bin in the ladies toilets.
shower block is unheated.
no soap supplied for washing hands in the toilets
shower block and toilets cleaned sporadically
despite 'no groups' sign, there are many groups of up to 10 people. consequently site is noisy at night.
the 11pm curfew for noise is largely ignored.
the staff hate big tents 'because they kill my grass' as we were told as soon as we arrived..with a big tent
shop is only open from 9am, rather than in time to get stuff for breakfast - plan ahead.
one campers motorhome was gazumped by a winnebago, and the staff would not do anything about it.
there are no designated camping pitches so other tents can get uncomfortably close.
on bank holiday weekend 2008 we had someone pitching at 1am next door to us.
oh, and after rain the pitches become waterlogged.
