“Great Hotel in North Wales”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Lodge in North Wales while visiting Great Britain. A beautiful location in the Conwy River valley with great views close to beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed and the town of Conwy, where we toured the fabulous medeival village and castle. The proprietor and staff were most pleasant and provided assistance with great sightseeing ideas in the area. The breakfasts were most generous and of very high quality and the evening meals were of a very high standard as well, and not too pricy. Overall we had a wonderful four night stay at this hotel and would return again if and when we visit North Wales in future.

“BE WARNED WHEN BOOKING THIS VENUE FOR YOUR STAY”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

When booking this venue I was told that it was possible to have a slightly cheaper Bed and Breakfast if I took the option of an Evening Meal for the price of £18.
What actually happens is the Evening Meal costs you the full price which is added in on your Invoice.
This was a ploy to make sure your are eating at the venue and not elsewhere.
The Food and Service was good, the room o/k but I felt there was a desperation to keep you there to eat and to buy expensive drinks.
My wife and I would never return again as we like everything above board.
Huge smiles ,joviality and over friendliness can sometimes disguise an underlying misleading intent.

I took this customers booking. I clearly advised that the deal included an £18 per person evening meal allowance, anything more than £18 per person was chargeable.Only this and any drinks consumed were added to his bill.
I can not undedrstand that if this customer felt that his bill was inaccurate, why he did not dispute this at the time of departure as I was the person who checked him out.
I am proud to state that my staff are extreamly welcoming and caring in their approach to customers and their needs. This in turn can lead to a bit of joviality, which should not be misinterpreted.
I can assure any customer who stays with us in our family run establishment that our only aim is to make you feel welcome, comfortable and wanting to return again.

“Ecellent, a fantastic evening had by all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

A huge THANK YOU! to the proprietors of the Lodge Hotel Tal-y-Bont and their staff for their excellent service and support during our stay and on the evening of our parents Ruby Wedding Anniversary party. The buffet provided was of excellent quality, good value for money and well presented. The function room was spacious and decorated beautifully. The cleanliness of the accommodation and hotel was of a very high standard and staff were always polite, cheerful and extremely helpful. The Lodge Hotel is located in a picturesque village with beautiful and un-spoilt scenery. We will definitely be recommending the Lodge Hotel to our friends. THANK YOU xx

“pleasant staff, comfortable clean room, good to use as a base”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

We booked 2 nights at The Lodge to use as a base for the weekend and upon our arrival were greeted by very pleasant, friendly staff. The family room we had booked was very clean and nicely appointed with enough room for the four of us also far enough away from the main part of the hotel so that we were not disturbed by the wedding reception held on the Saturday night. The only issue we did have was with the sofa bed which my son said was very uncomfortable to sleep on due to the mattress being so thin and the towels provided were not much bigger than a hand towel. There is also an additional charge per child per night which considering I was already paying for a family room seemed a little strange but only a minor matter.
We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was adequate but maybe a little on the pricey side compared to other places in the area that we ate at over the weekend. Also it would have been nice to have had a buffet element to the breakfast for toast, juice etc. whilst waiting for the cooked breakfast to arrive but the quirky ordering process for breakfast was the source of great amusement to us and made up for this!!
Overall The Lodge suited our needs perfectly; the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the room was clean, warm and well appointed, and the breakfast set us up for the day ahead.

“Friendly, comfortable, good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2011

We were really well looked after at The Lodge - the rooms were very nice, staff incredibly friendly and still smiling first thing in the morning. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food (and wine!) was really good. We stayed in the cottage which was really well kitted out - could quite happily have stayed longer.
