“excellent”

We stayed at his wonderful hotel for a weekend in feb. We stayed in room 21 which was all newly reburbished with a superking sized bed which was super comfy, spacious bathroom with plenty of towels, soaps and shampoo and a proper hairdryer! To top it all the bedroom even had it's own separate lounge with yet another huge tv and a lovely rocking chair! The hotel staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The breakfast was delicious, so much choice. All in all this is the only place to stay in Caernarfon!!

Room Tip: Room 21, huge room with it's own separate lounge

“"fantastic pub in Caernarfon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Great central location with the added bonus of a free on site carpark.
We stayed in room 106, a spacious room with a huge comfortable bed.
The room had all we needed, plentiful tea and coffee, large flat screen TV, free WiFi and a very recently refurbished bathroom.
The two bars serve a good range of cask ales as well as having an interesting whisky selection. The food is excellent and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it
This is a very old building and other reviewers are right, the stairs are narrow, its quite dark but hey, thats all part of why you stay in a historic inn!

Room Tip: Room 106 has the kitchen extractor vent outside which starts about 6:30 -7:00am not too nosy can can...

“A truly Welsh experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I have stayed at this historic pub quite a few times in recent years and it keeps getting better. The rooms are all different and all have character because of the age of the building. It's 16th century. All the rooms I have stayed in have been large - I had the coach house last month, which is outside (they lend you a brolly!) and vast; I've just had room 24 in the eaves which was spacious as well. The beds are always very comfortable. Dinner here is very good too - an excellent choice for vegetarians. Service is typical of north west Wales, friendly in a direct and humorous way. I love them.

Room Tip: Well I liked the Coach House but it is outside

“We stayed with small Group from the USA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

The Rooms are Small but very nice and comfortable it is Built in 1522, and you can go knocking the place apart. The stairs are quite narrow if you have big cases. we stayed for one night only. The Welsh/English breakfast is very good. The pub is very popular with locals and get busy. Its in center of town with good walking to castle. Could be problem if have difficult walking.

“An excellent standard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Overall my visit to The Black Boy Inn was higly commendable. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had all the facilities that you would normally require, Iron & board, hairdryer, coffee and tea and ample storage space. The menu looked good but did not eat there but if re-visit certainly will do. My only criticism was that in the one section fo th bar it was rowdy and one memeber of staff could not be described as pleasant or efficient - though the rest of the staff were excellent.
Would certainly reccomend and return.
