Although the front line staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful, the management need a shake up.
I stayed in the Pear Tree Mews part, and found the rooms in need of attention. Although there was good water pressure in the taps and shower, there was paint falling off walls, taps that don't match (or have labels for hot and cold), fridges that don't work and mattresses that were definately more than well worn. The shower doors also leaked meaning that everytime you have a shower, the bathroom gets flooded (not really a problem unless you mind falling on a tiled floor!). The wifi is also unreliable. I raised some of these issues on day two of my 5 day visit, and despite various promises, nothing was ever done. Poor effort.
The smell of sewage in some of the corridors on some days, and the leaking roof in the hotel bar when it rained also topped the visit off for me!!
The bar food itself was generally good, although some of the sandwiches seemed rather overpriced.....
I would not stay there again.
We could not believe we paid 70 pounds for bed and buffet breakfast at Wood Norton Hall .
What a bargain!
The building comes with a lot of history and is in beautiful condition . We found the restaurant and bar to be top notch and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here .
Dinner was 22pounds for a lovely two course meal . The restaurant was in a very cosy and intimate room , breakfast was a superb buffet style with nuts ,yoghurts, cereals and a full cooked english breakfast .
The staff were very helpful and attentive.
The rooms were good but the beds were a little hard for my wifes liking .
All in all a great weekend break at a fantastic price
Nice little hotel in the countryside. Our room was in the annex and was not in the main hall photographed. The room was large and had a nice bath and shower but the decor was a bit dated and reception on the TV was poor. The hall itself was old fashioned but very nice to have a few beers and play snooker in the games room. The service was VERY helpful and friendly through out our stay. The bar food was ok, but nothing special and a bit overpriced for what it was. Breakfast was standard full English affair which was good.
Not far from Stratford on Avon (15 min) for evening theatre and great walking in the Malverns.during the day
