“Cannot fault the place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I have stayed here several times over the past 20 years and I am pleased to say that each time I visit is just as enjoyable as the last. This is probably my favourite hotel in the UK, I wish I had reson to stay here more often.

This is the hotel that invented the 'Can do' attitude - the people here are great, always cheerful & friendly. Nothing is to much trouble here - ask the staff for a phone charger for example and a huge box of many different charger types will be brought out!

Chain hotels could learn a lot from the Evesham....but I doubt they will.

Proper coffee in the room, proper milk in the fridge, WiFi & easy to control heating.....
The place is spotlessly clean.
Breakfast is a joy, freshly cooked (not horrible buffet style) and served to you on a hot plate (why are the plates always cold in 'other' hotels)???

Look forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: Pretty much all the rooms are great.

“BRILLIANT WEEKEND, WILL COME BACK”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

It was my wife's 30th bday weekend and we needed a break from London. The first time we have been to a hotel with 2 year old son and I had done a lot of research into baby friendly hotels. They all seemed expensive but a friend recommended the Evesham, as it was cheaper and they know me and wife like quirky characters and places.
The location is perfect, near all the lovely cotswold towns with good pubs and shops for my wife.
Hotel was memorable! Staff firstly were lovely and made you feel so welcome. Proper old school and passionate about the place.
The hotel was like going back in time and this is what i enjoyed. My son loved the pool nice and warm not too busy. He had his tea both evenings at 6. Proper choice of food for a two year old and he sat in main dining room was so funny!

The first night we ate in. The food was ok but good value more interesting was the extraordinary choice of drinks. I had my favourite singha beer, never seen this in a English Hotel!

The owner is weird, but in a good way! His sense of humour is a bit cringey but we liked some of his jokes and he was extremely helpful in recommending places to visit for our son the next day.

Breakfast was very good! Room was good for the money! We went out for curry on second night with son which I think owner thought was weird, but he was weird too.

In summary great hotel, memorable, great value, great staff and we will be back.

“Fun themed rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Stayed in a French themed room, delightfully decorated and tons of little extras - tea pot and tea cups at least a dozen tea bags, coffee, real coffee, coffee squisher, fresh milk in the fridge, hand wash liquid, air freshener, ironing board, iron and friends had the African themed room - giraffe print curtains, pretend leopard skin rugs (well they look pretend!), Egyptian and Gaudi rooms were fun too. Excellent dinner menu, most entertaining range of drinks (ie: Finally we have French Wine - Gnats P**s). Breakfast was tasty ad freshly cooked, including at least 30 types of cereal. Dogs and other well behaved pets are welcome (and not allowed in the public areas so if you're not brining yours, you won't be bothered by anyone elses). Indoor pool with loads of floats to entertain the family. A giant pile of indoor games and a separate family room for the younger children. Finally, you won't mislay your room key as it's attached to your personal teddybear. Highly reccommend - we had a great time.

Room Tip: Any of the themed rooms are delightful.

“Well, it's different....”

Hotel was warm and welcoming, which was appreciated after arriving late on a cold night. Room was comfortably furnished and very clean, although some people might not appreciate the 1970s decor - however well-preserved. (I would also have preferred a duvet on the bed, rather than a blanket with sheets.) The shower over the bath was feeble by current standards, as was the bathroom extractor fan, but nonetheless everything appeared well-maintained.

I found the proprietor's eccentricity to be a little overpowering (especially in his role as a waiter); a polite, but firm "no thank you, I'm OK" might be what is required here.

Food was excellent, both at breakfast time and in the evening. And whilst the dining area was decorated to a very high standard, it was for me too brightly lit for an evening meal. As a solo guest I would have been more comfortable eating in the bar area, but that was not allowed.

I didn't really 'get' the legendary gents' restroom on the ground floor - in fact it gave me quite a fright!

And then there are the bears......

But if you want a hotel whith character then this is it.

“There is nowhere quite like it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Not my first visit by any means, but when my wife & I had the sad & arduous task of clearing my father's house in the Vale of Evesham we chose to make it as pleasant as possible and stay a couple of nights at The Evesham Hotel. Good call. The staff are all charming, friendly and efficient, the rooms spacious and comfortable, the food excellent with as wide-ranging dinner & breakfast menus as I have seen anywhere and the wine and drinks offering simply gargantuan. Add to this the lovely swimming pool for a much-needed early evening relaxation and an amusing library for a post-dinner giggle and the whole experience could not be improved. The owner John Jenkinson inspires loyalty in his staff and runs the business his way, that is to say superbly, without a hint of stuffiness or pomposity. Because of its singularity, there may be people who wouldn't like The Evesham Hotel (as in "you can't please all the people all the time"); I feel sorry for them.

Room Tip: 29 was spacious and comfortable and right next to the swimming pool.

We're sorry for the difficult reason for your visit, but pleased you enjoyed what we have to offer (again!). Thank you for your kind words and I'm pleased you like my father's sense of humour, which has of course embarassed us children for years!
