Spent two nights 5th to 7th Feb. Very helpful staff were given an upgraded room in courtyard.
I had asked for a modern room and room 302 was lovely. Then we opened the wardrobe and
one side had a lighthing wire hanging down, my husband fiixed it. Wardrobe next to that one had lighting strip missing. Tv which was supposed to swivel did not. Also no minibar in room.
Called reception to explain and someone came immediately. We were told there is no minibar in any of the rooms as people drink the whiskey and put tea in the bottle and fill the vodka bottles with water! the light strip that was missing from the wardrobe was because people steal these, (it was apparently fixed the day before and taken again!!!!). Were told tv is not supposed to swivel, (my husband has a company that installs home cinemas and smart technology into hotels and peoples homes. It was supposed to swivel) room had wonderful bathroom only down side was door did not open easily so I got stuck a couple of times. We
asked to move and without any fuss were give a beautiful suite. Staff could not have been more helpful especially Les the porter who took us to our room and then helped us move to another room. I would definately stay again. But one down side was that there are no inhouse movies no sky channels but 4 or 5 sports channels. After relaxing by one of the firesides it would have been lovely to go to our suite and see a film not football or horse racing. Also breakfast in the great hall was lovely but very very cold

I was very impressed. Staff were wonderful, especially Les who was very helpful and gave 100%. Comfort and luxury were 100%. I was especially impressed that as we had to take the dog in the end, I had expected to be ‘fobbed off’ in a grotty room but everything was impressive. I would give Lygon 100%. We didn’t actually eat in the restaurant in the evening but breakfast was also very good. Spa facilities were an additional bonus and clean. Lovely to have the swimming costume thing to wring it out and help dry. The fire places were so beautiful and I know it sounds daft, often there are lovely fireplaces but they don’t light them, and there were cozy log fires everywhere. Thank you so much for making our stay possible and so enjoyable.

Myself and my partner have been staying at this beautiful hotel for the past 8yrs this new years eve we decided to tie the knot before going on to the new years gala dinner dance. We would like to say a big big thankyou firstly to Victoria and Charlotte (events ) who helped to plan our wedding they delivered the most professional yet personal service helping make our wedding day the most perfect occasion anyone could wish for. We also have to say a massive thankyou to Jane ( manager) and Adriano (deputy manager) these two again were fantastic on our special day they made sure everything ran smoothly they was most attentive and there was nothing we had to ask for due to their fantastic dedication and service . We would highly recommend this hotel and all the staff for making our big day the most fantastic magical day anyone could wish for and I would say to anyone if you are thinking of using the Lygon for a special occasion or just for a break away dont think about it just do it you will not be disappointed ! Again thankyou to all at the Lygon arms we look forward to seeing you again this year to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary ! X

This hotel has character, charm, style and excellent service, I stayed in the the main building (the old part) the room was clean and warm, my room had a four poster bed a small dressing area and a very large bathroom the only improvement would of be a plug for the hairdryer near a mirror. The food is exceptional and the staff are very attentive sometimes the staff did not always understand English as most are from Europe and struggled with the English language. I did not use the pool and spa but had a look a round, the pool is large and looked very inviting and the spa is Decleor. Like another reviewer this is not a cheap hotel
