Laurent Petas has without a doubt the best b&b in have had the pleasure to stay at in a very long time.

The birth of our daughter’s first baby brought us to Maidenhead. We were fortunate to find a lovely bed and breakfast within walking distance of her home to lodge at for five weeks while helping out with our new grandbaby. The one thing that really makes the Bakehouse standout is the gracious hospitality of its owner, Laurent Petas. He could not have been more accommodating and made us feel so welcome. Laurent made our visit an absolute delight. He went out of his way to be helpful as well as providing a comfortable, impeccably clean room and some scrumptious breakfasts. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed—the perfect environment to get a good night’s sleep. Because I’ve had several spinal surgeries, it is important that the bed I sleep on is firm, and a real plus for me was the mattress gave me proper support enabling me to sleep comfortably. I would not hesitate to book a room at the Bakehouse the next time we are in the UK and we look forward to seeing our new friend, Laurent, again.

Mr Petas is a lovely host and cooks a delicious breakfast. We needed a place to stay after dining at the Fat Duck and could not have found a better place. Very very good.

Laurent the owner, manager & chef of the Bakehouse was very welcoming and went out of his way to make my stay of several months as homely as possible. The breakfasts are freshly cooked using good quality ingredients.
