I live very near to Fredricks so can only comment as a day spa guest. We got a 2 for 1 deal so for £150 the 2 of us had the run of the spa, a facial, a massage lunch and a glass of champagne. From the moment we arrived I was impressed, the receptionist knew who we were and then gave us a tour explaining everything - the locker provided even had my name on it. The treatments given were exceptional, I have been to the Grove, Ragdales, Sanctuary etc etc , and tons of other spas that are far more expensive and the treatment received here was better - maybe we just got lucky with a superb therapist! I wish I could remember here name to compliment her! The lunch was pretty good really - you get a choice of once course plus a glass of Champagne - I had a crab and avocado salad and my husband a mushroom risotto - all fine. Water is complimentary.
What I especially liked about the spa was how quiet it was and how there were lots of loungers for everyone there - unlike The Grove! The indoor outdoor pool is lovely and you can swim in winter without getting cold. There are also no kids allowed! Fantastic!
I think a lot of things worked in our favour for our experience on the day but I would return - but only on a deal and only mid-week as I understand it gets very busy at the weekends.
I did pass the guest rooms on the way to the spa - they did look a little dated as did parts of the hotel but I feel it's unfair to comment given I was only a day guest. Every member of staff we saw and spoke to were a pleasure to deal with and to have staff that great Fredricks are doing something very good!
