“Fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This is a great hotel, not a great location, but everything inside is great.
When I we arrived we got a sparkling wine and they made me a little birthday cake! Then we went to the room which was very nice and the spa is lovely, very small but it was quiet when we went- my husband slept by the pool while I had a fab massage.
We also ate there and the food was tasty, not much atmosphere in the restaurant though- it was midweek and only one other table eating.

“Just what the doctor ordered!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Booked Fredricks as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday and what a fab time we had. After a long drive from Devon we were greeted by a lovely glass of bubbly and a room upgrade to a suite which was fabulous - things like that dont happen to us and it was a brilliant surprise and thoroughly enjoyed. How great that they dont leave these expensive rooms empty but allow guests to enjoy and then rave about them! The spa was just lovely and definately recommend a winters evening swim in the pool -wow! Cant comment on evening meal as we ate at the Hinds Head at Bray but breakfast was excellent. The staff were just lovely too, very friendly to us country bumpkins! Would love to make a return visit.
Thankyou Fredricks - just what we needed after a stressful few months.

Would definately recommend

“excellent professional service! Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Went on a ong weekend spa break with my girlfriend on a voucher deal which included a treatment each day , breakfast and dinner and use of the facilities. the treatments where out of this world and the spa facillities where perfect. As for the food defiantly deserves its 3 rosettes! food was a little slow to come out considering the dining room was near enough empty but was worth th wait! perfect sized course excuted with brilliant presentatio. i whole heartedly recommend this place to everyone...plus tom kerridge hand and flowers (2 michellin) is 10 minutes drive away!

“Best Value Spa by Far - if you can get the 2 for 1 deal!”

I live very near to Fredricks so can only comment as a day spa guest. We got a 2 for 1 deal so for £150 the 2 of us had the run of the spa, a facial, a massage lunch and a glass of champagne. From the moment we arrived I was impressed, the receptionist knew who we were and then gave us a tour explaining everything - the locker provided even had my name on it. The treatments given were exceptional, I have been to the Grove, Ragdales, Sanctuary etc etc , and tons of other spas that are far more expensive and the treatment received here was better - maybe we just got lucky with a superb therapist! I wish I could remember here name to compliment her! The lunch was pretty good really - you get a choice of once course plus a glass of Champagne - I had a crab and avocado salad and my husband a mushroom risotto - all fine. Water is complimentary.
What I especially liked about the spa was how quiet it was and how there were lots of loungers for everyone there - unlike The Grove! The indoor outdoor pool is lovely and you can swim in winter without getting cold. There are also no kids allowed! Fantastic!
I think a lot of things worked in our favour for our experience on the day but I would return - but only on a deal and only mid-week as I understand it gets very busy at the weekends.
I did pass the guest rooms on the way to the spa - they did look a little dated as did parts of the hotel but I feel it's unfair to comment given I was only a day guest. Every member of staff we saw and spoke to were a pleasure to deal with and to have staff that great Fredricks are doing something very good!

“Amazing!”

My partner and I stayed for one night on a Saturday. We were greeted by friendly staff and they gave us a glass of wine to welcome us. We started off with a massage each which was perfect! I thought the complimentary fruit afterwards was a nice touch. The pool has electric glass doors so you can choose to swim outside in the heated pool - a strange experience on a cold winters evening, but really lovely! The spa is small but luckily it wasn't very busy when we went. We chose not to stay for dinner as it's quite pricey with not a lot of choice, but there are plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby. The breakfast was delicious! Our room was really comfortable - could have happily stayed there all week!
