“Picturesque”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2010

The room I had was in the past either a stable or a cabby room (having their horses outside where cars park now): by opening the doors you are on courtyard/parking lot. The room was small, bath tiny, all smelled a bit.

Good full English breakfast, bar is opened until--well I do not know, I went to bed before they closed.

“Good location and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2010

Stayed at the hotel in November for business and the room was in the main building. The room was good size and was nice and clean. Love the location of the hotel as it was only a 10 minutes walk to Windsor. I did not get a chance to try the breakfast in the hotel as I had to check out early and breakfast was not served till 7 in the morning, however, the staff was kind enough to offer to make me sandwich before check out. Overall I have no complaints and will gladly come back to this hotel if I am in the area.

“A nice, quiet hotel with off street parking and friendly staff”

Our main objective for being in Windsor was to visit Legoland with our 6 year old son. We found Christopher Hotel through the Legoland Windsor website, which together with Christopher Hotel, offered a package.

Christopher Hotel is in Eton and just a stone's throw from Windsor Castle. Our junior suite room was a rather tight fit, especially for our 2 large suitcases, plus a coverted sofa-bed. We endured a scalding shower on our first night here. The receptionist showed us another knob on the shower control to regulate the hot water the next day. The bathroom is stocked with Molton Brown shampoos and soaps.

Although the room and bathroom looked a little worn, the staff at the hotel were gracious, warm and friendly - which made up for it. Breakfast was served in the Bar and Grill. Breads, yoghurt, cheeses, fruits, cereal, milk and juices were available. One can also order a full English Breakfast. The food here is also quite good, as we discovered when we ate dinner here one night.

There is also off street parking, but space is limited.

A nice cosy hotel to stay around the Windsor/Legoland area. Quiet neighbourhood, and historic sights. Windsor castle is nearby and this is one of the favorite castles of Queen Elizabeth II.

“No good for business travellers”

Both the hotel and Eton are very picturesque. I was given one of the rooms in the so called Courtyard, which is actually the service road which runs into the hotel. From the first night the amount of noise was just unbearable, mostly coming from the smokers and staff who stand outside the bar in the "Courtyard" adjacent to the rooms. As the night gets later and the drinkers get more drunk the noise levels increase. Don't expect to be able to get to sleep before midnight. Also, don't open your windows because the room will fill with cigarette smoke.
Then there's the plumbing. Every time anyone in any of the rooms (or the kitchen) turns on a tap, the pipes clank and bang for a number of minutes.
The internet doesn't work. To be accurate, it works sometimes and then disappears. The physical internet connection in the room didn't appear to be connected to anything leaving you at the mercy of the wireless connection.
And finally, the housekeeping staff don't appear to be able to speak English.
I won't be staying there again.
