My wife and I booked a feature room, at this local hotel, for our wedding night, together with an additional five rooms at this hotel some nine months in advance. However despite regular contact with the hotel in person, by phone and email, with the latest call only 4 days before the event, the hotel still managed to mess everything up on the day. Having arranged to check in early I turned up at 12pm on the day of the wedding to book into the room and get changed ready for the ceremony at 2pm, only to be informed that the hotel was over booked and my party had been moved to a different hotel. Despite having booked it so far in advance the hotel came up with a series of excuses, as to why our booking had to be moved, gave us poor directions to the other hotel and sent us on our way.
What has followed is a series of letters and emails between the hotel chain and myself about the issue, without a satisfactory resolution.
As a regular hotel user I am used to varying levels of service, and don’t normally post reviews. In fact I have delayed posting anything until now. However due to this being such an important event in our life, the huge amount of notice given when booking the rooms, and the dismissive attitude of the staff throughout, I feel obliged to warn others that in my experience placing your trust in this hotel chain for an important event is risky at best.
