“Another beautiful Manor House ...with no lift!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have to say this was the bargain of the century - I wont say how much I paid but for the surroundings, rooms and breakfast I thought there had been a mistake.

Was travelling from the North of UK to Windsor for a Conference but sadly the hotels in Windsor have a shocking lack of car parking so chose to stay here. A sweeping driveway gives way to a stone built manor house in its own grounds.

The reception area is very modern without forgetting its old skool charm and the staff are attentive and helpful.

The breakfast was a mix of Full English and Continental served in a room over looking the garden which was all very civilised.

The only down side is there was no lift access to my 2nd floor room and I nearly had a Hernia carrying all my stuff upstairs in 4inch heels ....note to self, wear more practical shoes (nah!)

Thank you for your many kind comments.

It is always so nice to receive positive feedback to share with the team.

If only we had taken your case upstairs, then you won't have to contemplate worrying about your choice of footwear.

We hope to be able to welcome you back at some point in the near future,

Kind regards,

“Excuisite Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Hotel recently changed hands and is now a 'venue' hotel, specifically looking for conference and wedding business. Can nevertheless book for dinner, the price was high but chef Rob Allun is giving the fine dining experience down the road a run for its money. Sofas in the bar area need an upgrade to match.

Thank you for your very kind words on Trip Advisor.

I am delighted to read your comments and will happily share them with Rob Allum and the rest of his kitchen team.
We are very lucky to have such a talented bunch (both front and back of house) with a beautiful restaurant making the experience all the more special.

You will be pleased to hear that throughout February the bar and lounge area (including the sofas) will be completely refurbished, so we look forward to welcome you back in the very near future to see the changes for yourself.

Thank you again for your compliments,

Thank you for taking time to post your thoughts on Trip Advisor.

I only wish you had taken time to speak with myself or any of my colleagues about the points you raise.
As the manor house was built in 1705 it does have lots of old character and charm, though it doesn't lend itself to offer a sensible position to locate a lift to the first or second floors. There are, however, a number of bedrooms located on the ground level (all with excellent garden views) which we could have happily suggested to you.
Wake up and alarm calls are offered as standard and I apologise if this service was overlooked upon check-in.
We pride ourselves in the quality of products offered throughout the hotel and are regularly praised for the coffee served.
In fact we have just opened a wonderful coffee break-out area with the best 'bean to cup' machines available (delegates can enjoy this area all day) this is in addition to the excellent selection available in both the lounge and the restaurant.

Kind regards,

“A god place for business outside of the core”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I stay at this hotel about 3 or 4 times a year for business. It's a nice easier tranfer from LHR and inviting. The dinner area and bar are good for socializing. Ask for the new part of the hotel if you like updated rooms, or stay with the traditional British rooms.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Trip Advisor.

It is lovely to hear that you have been a regular visitor to the hotel when you travel into nearby Heathrow.
When you return on your next visit you will see the wonderful refurbishment of the lounge and bar areas taking place throughout February. I am confident you will find the new contemporary style compliments the existing old charm and no doubt you will feel just as comfortable.

We look forward to your return,

Kind regards,

“Lovely hotel, great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We were staying at the hotel as we were attending a party locally, so didn't have the chance to experience all of the facilites. However, what we did find were amazingly helpful and attentive staff both in Reception and in the Bar, and a really good buffet breakfast the following morning. The grounds were immaculate, and the suite we were in was comfortable and spacious. All in all, great value for money, and superb location!
