“Clean, quiet and comfortable with helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2011

I walked the 5-10 mins from the train station and was greeted by name at the door with a helpful/efficient check-in. As the name suggests this is more of a college than a hotel but I was expecting this. The college appears to cater for religious studies principally older people so the place was pretty quiet which made for a good night's sleep.
The room I stayed in was single en suite which was clean and had a nice view of the cathederal. There was no TV but as I had to prepare for a meeting, this wasn't an issue.
Breakfast was cereal, tea, coffee and cooked breakfast - similar to what you may expect at a youth hostel.
Overall, I found Sarum college good value, don't expect a five star hotel but if you want a quiet, clean and comfortable room this is a decent place to stay in the heart of Salisbury.

“Only good things to say about Sarum College”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2010

My husband and I were only planning an overnight stay in Salisbury and chose Sarum College for it's location and the uniqueness of it. During the night, the "big snow" came, and we were unable to make it to Wales the next day as originally planned. Linda, who had received us at the College the night before, could not have been more helpful or accommodating. She arranged our stay for a second night, and very kindly moved us to a room with a Cathedral view. Our extended stay at Salisbury and Sarum College was indeed an unexpected Christmas treat!

“Absolutely lovely”

We had come to visit the Cathedral and were delighted to be able to stay within the Cathedral Close. We had one of the Baker Suites (and last minute upgrade) and were amazed at the size (for Europe) of the sitting room, and the bathroom. While the atmosphere is a little dorm-like, that's exactly what this is: a dorm of a theological college. We had an en-suite, but peeked into the shared bathrooms and they were very clean and spacious. We would come back here in a heartbeat, and stay for much longer! The price was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. We made use of the small chapel attached to the building, and found the breakfast to be substantial and varied and far more than we had expected.

“If it gets better than this for location, friendliness and value, I don't know how”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 March 2010

Set in arguably the most beautiful location imaginable, directly opposite Salisbury Cathedral, Sarum College has wonderfully friendly and welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Historic building dating from the mid 1600s but gently modernised where it needs it. Rooms simple and comfortable, meant for quiet prayer and.or relaxation but with a good WiFi connection. Food wonderful and kitchen staff managed any and all special requirements with a cheerful smile. Parking on site, an easy stroll to the shops and other restaurants if you so wish...and lovely conference facilities. Just heavenly.

“The BEST hotel ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2009

This has been, by far, the BEST hotel I've stayed at in my whole life! The rooms were spacious (for Europe), clean, and super comfortable. More important than that was the staff! Very receptive to their guests' needs and willing to meet such needs. The friendliest people ever - they ( specially Linda and Richard) were genuinly nice, dedicated, and sweet. I'll stay there again!!!
