We stayed for 2 nights over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, and thought Spire House was lovely. John was extremely welcoming when we first arrived and advised us where to park. We stayed in the room on the first floor at the front of the house and we had a lovely bay window making the room really light, but also a bit of noise from the road - thankfully not too much. Spire House is in a brilliant location for getting around Salisbury and we found some fantastic pubs and restaurant over our weekend there.
The first issue we came across with the room was the en-suite, if you can call it that. It's very small, a bit musty smelling, the shower is about as powerful as a dribble and the toilet makes a very loud noise when you flush it. The room itself was lovely, the bed a wee bit squeeky, but overall good.
The second issue we had was with the breakfast set up. The breakfast was just lovely, such a good selection of foods and drinks, but we were not too happy that we were sat right next to the other guests. The B&B was full when we stayed so it meant sitting at the one table with 8 other guests over breakfast, most of whom were very loud talkers and we felt like we couldnt just sit and relax, we heard all about their previous night at a wedding and what they were doing for the rest of the weekend. We would have preferred seperate tables for breakfast.
Other than that, John and Lois could not have been nicer. They are both warm, charming hosts, that would bend over backwards to please their guests.
