We booked through an internet site and said we would be arriving in the afternoon. Unfortunatly when we arrived we found that the reception area was locked. We had to call a mobile number which was posted on the door, this went streight to answer phone. After a long wait in the cold we managed to get through to a quite rude member of staff who eventually let us in.
We were given keys to room 7 and left to find our own way up. Sorry to say that the room was cold with a pathetic storage heater. There were holes in the door and above the bed which looked as if someone had punched them. The bed had seen better days but at least the linen was clean.
The bathroom was not very clean (I dropped the soap and when I picked it up it was covered in hair) Also the toilet was facing the side of the bath and was so close that you had to sit sideways!
The room was quiet except for the sterio in the lounge directly under us, which played the same CD all evening until about 11pm. And started again at about 6.45 am (ARRGH)
The breakfast was just about edible but nothing to get excited about and the log fire was non existant.
All in all, a really poor effort and not very good value. We paid £70 and I think we would have been better off in a travel lodge.
