Suzanne has to be the best host ever. Great room, very comfortable and gorgeous breakfast.

We stayed here for one night during as part of a whirlwind trip around England via train. Had we planned a more reasonable itinerary and a few days in Salisbury, I think this place would have been fine. Suzanne was very friendly and helpful and our room was comfortable and pleasant. For our purposes, however, we found the location a hassle. It's a 20 minute walk to the train station (more with luggage I'd imagine), 20-25 minutes to the Cathedral (which is 15/20 from the train station), 10 minutes to the bus station. Wyndham Park Lodge is in a residential area, there are no pubs, stores etc nearby. We arrived in the afternoon, went to Stonehenge, planned to spend the evening exploring pubs in Salisbury and the cathedral in the morning. However, breakfast took longer than we expected (and started later than we were told) and we didn't have time to go to the Cathedral and make our train. We ended up having to skip the Cathedral, which was one of the main reasons we'd come to Salisbury in the first place. Overall, this is a great place and Suzanne is very sweet. The bed was comfortable (not too firm or too squishy), with very soft sheets. I can see why the reviews are good, especially if you're not relying on public transport. I just wish it was a) closer to either tourist areas areas or the train or b) in a cuter and more interesting neighborhood.

My mother and I stayed in the family room during our two night stay in Salisbury. I only wish we had planned to stay longer. Suzanne assisted us with our luggage and provided refreshments in the garden upon our arrival. After eight vacations in the UK, Wyndham Park Lodge is at the top of my list. Suzanne is an excellent hostess and provided one of the best English breakfasts I have ever had. Accommodations were beautifully decorated and clean with a capital C. Lovely bath toiletries were provided and the towels are a great size. One of my pet peeves when traveling is not enough hangers, that was not the case here. Location was great for leaving the rental car and walking into the center of Salisbury. I have already recommended Wyndham to an English friend and only hope I have the opportunity to return. Should have five stars and a Gold award!

Having read the other reviews before we visited, we expected to find a latter-day saint running the place, as everyone was so glowing in their praise of the landlady, Suzanne. And we discovered that there hadn't been any exaggeration whatsoever from the previous guests. Suzanne is the friendliest, most helpful B & B/ hotel owner we have ever met. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she was so cheerful that it was impossible not to feel happy in her company. Our room was spacious and clean, and we had all the facilities we needed. Our car was parked securely, and the hotel was very well-situated, just a few minutes walk from the city centre, but in a quiet neighbourhood. It was a pleasure to stay here, and I recommend it without a moment's hesitation.
