My husband and I got married at Weetwood Hall, Leeds on Friday 30th December 2011. My daughters, niece and I stayed at the hotel the night before. From the moment we arrived at the hotel until we left 2 days later, we were treated like royalty. We arrived at 2100 hrs on 29.12.11 and were met by the night porter, night manager and staff on reception. They couldn't do enough for us to make us feel comfortable and they ran up and down to the cellar with our flowers for us. The accommodation was 1st class - room 3 and 5 in the manor section. The beds were extremely comfortable mind you, I was the only one availing of them. My daughters and niece stayed up until 3 'chatting'!! Breakfast was a lovely relaxed affair with much laughter by all.
The staff within the hotel that morning were very courteous and extremely helpful, smiling all the while through our requests. We were collected from the hotel by a Keighley Red Bus and taken to the Registry office and then back to the sitdown meal at 5pm. Before leaving I had spoken to Christopher Platt, one of the toastmasters of the day, telling him all the little details I would like looked after. We pulled back up to Weetwood Hall and Christopher had done us proud!! Everything was in place, the blue twinkly lights in the porch along with the candlelights lighting the way to the door. The log fire was lit, crackling and very welcoming when we entered the lobby. The mulled wine was wonderful (so I was informed by the guests) as my husband and I had champagne given to us from the hotel. Christopher did a brilliant job making sure all ran well. The Jacobean Room was laid out beautifully. Our meal was of a very high standard and all the guests commented on it for days afterwards. We then went to the Woodlands Restaurant for our evening buffet and disco. The service was fantastic.Matthew Ballentyne, our 2nd toastmaster was very good at ensuring all ran nicely. The resident DJ Mike was brilliant and was amazing at getting all the tracks we had requested. We turned in at around 0200am.When we got to our room, a bottle of champagne and a beautiful chocolate decorated plate with fruit and truffles saying' Happy Wedding Day' was awaiting us from the hotel. It was a lovely personal touch which we really appreciated. We awoke at 0900am for breakfast and then started packing everything up from the day before. We had a pleasant surprise when we started to do this as the hotel staff had tidied the majority of things up for us and put them in storage for us just to collect them and take them home. We had a beautiful wedding day and it was largely due to the staff and ambience of Weetwood Hall, Leeds. We cannot thank them enough and wish them all the best for the future. Hope to see you all again very soon. With many thanks, Colette and Martin Bell xx
Room Tip: Room 3 and Room 5 in the manor are particularly luxurious
