Hotel is okay but don't eat in the restaurant if you can help it. A colleague and myself had an evening meal whilst staying in the hotel. She returned her food as it was inedible. My own choice was not much better but I was too hungry and not feeling well enough to go out into the cold night air (pathetic I know!).

The hotel was very convenient for the city centre shops and the art museum which we were visiting. Service at reception and in the restaurant was excellent. The hotel car park was not hard to find, albeit with the slightly dubious assistance of a satnav. The basement car park was tight, but there were plenty of spaces when we arrived on a Thursday evening and 24 hours for £10 seemed a good deal. The room was very clean and smart and had all that we needed. When booking the prepaid rate, the breakfast sounded too expensive and we expected to go out to one of the local cafes, but when we arrived we were offered a much reduced rate in the hotel and were very pleased to eat in the restaurant, where the buffet included fresh fruit and fresh pastries as well as the usual full English. My only complaint was the lack of free wi-fi internet - I would really want that for a longer stay and other hotel chains do provide it.

We only spent 1 night here and did not use any of the facilities, however what I did experience was an efficient & very comfortable hotel. It was obviously very busy at the time of our stay, but the check in system was very well managed, all the staff were very friendly and well organised. The room was of a good size, clean and comfortable. Unusual to see a separate toilet and bathroom, but worked OK. Breakfast was very nice with good variety and even though it was busy all the staff seemed very efficient and very polite and appeared happy in their work. I don't usually review UK hotels as don't generally have any strong opinions either way on them, but this one was different, I would definately recommend.
