“All that glitters is not gold”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I have stayed at this Hotel twice, the first time I was not impressed and the latest time I was quite annoyed and determined not to stay again. To be fair here is my opinion:
Food: Variety good, quality good, portions good, price - a bit more expensive than warranted.
Service: Very good, all staff were helpful and had a pleasant demeanor.
Overall Cleanliness: Very Good and visually so.
Facilities: Better than the average.
Rooms: Now here is where I got angry. I paid £110 per night for a 'Superior Room'. The room deserved the title 'Superior' and I could not fault it at all. The en-suite was top notch without a doubt. However, if you got this room and were expecting a decent night sleep forget it. Rooms 19, 20 [superior] and 21 are above the kitchen extractor system and the resultant LOUD humm pervades the whole room. You can even hear it walking along the corridor. It is so loud that it is pretty much akin to water boarding [torture] and sleep would be impossible. I complained about this and it was shut off at 1055pm and came on again at 0600. The bottom line is that had I known this I certainly would not have paid the £110 for the room, in fact I would have moved rooms but there were no others available. This single factor spoiled what might have been a good night for me. One more issue with this hotel, there is not a single room with a window that opens they are all sealed and fitted secondary glazed windows in place. All rooms are 'conditioned' so there is no fresh air and the constant hum of the conditioners.

Room Tip: Do not opt for a room on the second floor at the rear of the building.

“Great hotel, great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

As a business traveller, it's really nice to have a hotel that I can rely on. I know that I am going to receive good customer service from reception staff, a modern and comfortable room and a great meal served by professional and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel for it's quality and value for money.

Room Tip: As a single traveller if you don't mind a single bed book a twin to save money. Rooms are still...

“A first class visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I stayed overnight just after the New Year and found a hotel of excellent quality and service. My room was modern, very clean and comfortable, The air-conditioning was silent and effective. The staff were friendly and the breakfast outstanding (honey-comb honey, pink grapefruit marmalade, rhubarb and ginger preserve, good coffee and a good selection of cereals and fresh fruit(salad), My hang-over meant I did not partake of the cooked breakfast!

“Fantastic Hotel”

I stayed at this hotel for the second time and wondered if after the fantastic first visit I would be disappointed second time round. Not a bit of it, this hotel is first class. The room was clean and tidy, bathroom lovely and the food was great. How refreshing to be told that though there was a room service menu I could choose from the restaurant menu if I preferred AND there was no charge for room service - simply fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast the next morning was first class. Can't wait for work to take me near this hotel again.

“well appointed,Great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We regularly stay at this hotel when visiting the area.We are never disappointed.
We choose to stay in the upgraded rooms and think that they are very well appointed.
Good, comfy beds( although we wish they were Kingsize),settee, large wardrobe space and fridge. The bathroom is very well decorated and provides a bath with showers over. My only gripe about the bathroom is that in order to keep a minmalist feel there is only one place to hang towels.
The staff are a great asset to this hotel-they are always welcoming and can't do enough for you. The food too, is excellent and the choice available at breakfast is great- I particulalry enjoy the fish.
Well placed for Leeds,Selby and York-If you are staying in this area you could do no better than to stay here.

Room Tip: Premier rooms very good
