“Lovely and great value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I stayed here with my partner in January and we both had a lovely time. We ate in the pub on the first night - food and service was ok. On the second night we ate the restaurant, the food was average but the service was fantastic, the girls were bubbly and spoke to my partner and I on various times throughout the meal, made us laugh and even gave us some tips on what to do/where to see in Leeds. I would return here certainly!

“Rooms are ok, but don't book for a meal”

At around £60 for a double room its about average for Leeds in price. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably stylish, with free wifi. There is a problem with the air con, which always seems a little too warm. I've stayed here twice now and eaten in the restaurant both times. My first meal was ok, and reasonably priced for the quality and service. My second was not! The food itself wasn't hot and tasted bland. The service was very poor - to the point where the grumpiness of one waitress became something of a joke. It was noticeable that the waitresses seemed to spend most of their time apologising to various tables.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the bar.

“It just looks promising...”

My room was located on the first floor and I could hear the annoying music from the bar.
The room is not very comfortable in itself. There's no proper place for the suitcase. However, the bathroom was fine.

I had to leave the hotel earlier than breakfast's start time (6:45), the staff proposed me an early breakfast service. The breakfast was suppose to come at 6:00 and unfortunately it arrived at 6:25. :( Disappointing indeed.)

At least there was tea and coffee in the room.

The Fitness area is great!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the opposite side of the Hub bar.

“Spa Break Heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Ive just got back from a bargain spa break at Village and would highly recommend it!
For £100 we got 2 nights B&B, 2 x 30 beauty treatments each and a 3 course meal on our final night.
The hotel is lively with plenty going on, perfect for us girls who wanted a little taste of city life. We received a room upgrade and had a lovely spacious room with a double bed and a sofa bed ( plus it was on the first floor.....no massive corridors to navigate!). Rooms are really comfy with the usual coffee/ tea stuff, hanging space, shampoo plus extra pillows and towels are provided. We were there for 2 nights and house keeping knocked four times to see if we needed anything, which i found quite a nice touch and they were really friendly even when we turned them away.
Staff were really helpful although we probably would've benefited from a little more info about breakfast times/locations plus treatment times etc as we had to ask for these after.
Location wise the hotel is pretty easy to find with a whole host of facilities on site including a Starbucks and 2 choices of restuarants. We ate in the pub area and enjoyed a 3 course dinner of what i'd call pub grub with a modern twist.
We ventured into Leeds centre on Saturday and spent 7 quid on a taxi (freephone in reception) which i thought was reasonable :)
Altogether a very relaxed and happy girly would happily visit again!!
Top Tip: Check times for the spa facilities as can get quite busy on the weekend.

“oh dear”

Usually stay over in Leeds when dropping son off at Uni. Have stayed at Haley's in Headingley before and always been very happy there, but despite it's charm we wanted somewhere with a gym and pool this time. Village seemed ideal. Room was fine for the price (if a little hot) but food in the franchised restaurant was poor. What really did it for me though was the rudeness shown to an elderly indian lady who couldn't make herself understood. After that we just couldn't feel at home there. Also the pool seemed full of stags getting ready for the night out and we couldn't go together because my young daughter wasn't allowed in after 7pm. Too lary for us.
