“Holiday Inn Leeds-Bradford - Great Hotel and Great Staff!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Leeds-Bradford in December.I have family that live in the area.
I arrived and the receptionist was so lovely and helpful, she offered me an upgrade at a small cost so I decided to upgrade and I am so glad that I did. The bedroom was clean, cosy & the bed was very comfy. Normally in hotels I cant sleep but as soon as my head hit that pillow I was asleep.
My family came over and we have had dinner in the courtyard restaurant, The menu had a good variety and the staff were friendly, helpful and smart. We ordered food the its was delicious and very good value for money
I would recommend this hotel to my friend and family adn I am thinking about coming up to yorkshire in the spring, so i will be staying at this hotel again

Room Tip: Upgrade to an Executive Suite if available

“Our double bed...Was a Z bed & cost us £70 for the pleasure!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We booked this hotel as it was the venue of a family wedding. We had room 17 which is va spacious room, but has the oddest bed - it appears to fold down from the wall or something. Ive never seen anything quite like it- why anyone would decide to put a hideous thing like that in their hotel is entirely beyond me! It really was like you would imagine a Z bed to be- uncomfortable is an understatement. Just to add insult to injury- the bed sheets consisted of just that- Sheets!! Its January in northern England!!

I take comfort in the thought that my £70 that it cost to experience this treat of a hotel will go towards buying Duvets and contribute towards a new bed!!!

Room Tip: Just dont go if you can avoid it

“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Quite difficult to find with out a sat nav, its signposted as a Marriot Hotel
Arrival was late 9.45pm, reception kindly asked the chef to wait and the food was very good.
Only stayed for one night and was impressed with the room.
No mention of being PC Plat on arrival or upgrade offered but room was very good.
Would stay again.

“Great if you don't want to sleep or eat!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

This is the second time we've stayed here, the ONLY reason being that it's right opposite an offroad track and my husband races in the events they hold there. Trust me, if there was another choice, I'd be there like a shot!

Bearing in mind the rooms are £40, don't expect much. It's the standard, incredibly dated, pube-fest that you'd expect. I don't think that they'd changed the sheets, maybe just brushed them down (badly as it happens, I think Wolverine slept in our room the night before). The bathroom wasn't clean, I certainly didn't want a bath and had to brush my teeth with my eyes closed in case I looked into the sink!

The piece de resistance though, was our meal. There was an 80th birthday party that night, which meant that the main restaurant was closed. So they had rearranged what looked like a conference room, into a makeshift restaurant. When we arrived at 7pm, there was a table with 3 people and a table with 8. When we placed our order we were told that we would have a 40 minute wait 'due to the large table'....not quite sure who the chef was if 8 people worried him?! Anyway, our meal arrived 1 and a half hours later......chicken and salmon was so overcooked that it was unrecognisable and they'd even forgotten to cook one of the meals (there were only 3 of us, not like we had a table for 48!). So my husband had to wait for another half hour for his greasy, undercooked fish and chips to arrive. Totally revolting food, the service was terrible - no communication and we were being incredibly English and not grumbling so it's not like they were struglling to deal with us being difficult.
I would say, if you need to stay local then stay here and be prepared! Otherwise stay anywhere else but here!

Room Tip: Don't think there's a tip for a good room to be fair....apart from crossing your fingers!

“unorganised, dated, no knowledge”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I stayed here with my boyfreind for New year. He booked a romantic getaway for the 2 of us. First impressions was nothing special. When we checked in at reception the lady was clueless and unhelpful!
My boyfreind booked a deluxe room through holiday inn website, however when we got to room it was standard boring and dated. we called reception but they did nothing about this and did not try to move us. So i caomplained again and said breakfast would be free for us the follwoing morning, which was fair enough.
We also booked an evening meal for 8.30 however when we went into restaurant it was empty and basically the staff said they were not serving food as there was new year events on!
i was not happy at all and they were not going to provide us with any food , so started ringing local pubs for us to eat which i did not want to go out of hotel
They asked us if we wanted to sit with one of the parties who were wearing tuxedos and gowns and sit by ourself in the same room and pay 70 pound each for 4 course meal, which was unprofessional and gave us no choice.
I asked to see manager who then after battling an argument decided we could have the meal for free and in our room which was fair enough but just very unorganised and lack of profession!
the lift that took us to room had food squashed in the doors and obsiously not been cleaned at all.
We did not have breakfast the following morning as we checked out immeadiatly
Would not advise anyone to go to this hotel
