“Nice Overnight Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel as part of a coach party on 11 February.

On arrival we were checked in very quickly by the friendly staff. Our room was a family room so we had 2 extra single beds but there was still plenty of room, it did not feel cramped. The complimentary toiletries were very good also. There was also tea/coffee making facilities with complementary tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits and a hairdrier. The TV was small and offered about 12 channels, but we was not there long enough to worry about that.

As it was Valentines Weekend our coach party was at one side of the restaurant and the private guests were on the other and there was a dinner dance with a lady singing.

The food was very nice, but we had to wait a long time between courses as there were so many people in the restaurant.

Again the staff were very friendly during the meal, we had to choose from the printed menu what we wanted to eat and then the meat/fish and potatoes were served on the plate and another staff member brought and served the vegetables.

The butternut squash and coconut soup was very nice.

We had already decided that we would go into Bradford that evening so it was a short walk up the hill and left onto the main road to the bus stop, which took about 10 mins into the interchange. We got a taxi back which cost £7 including tip.

The breakfast next morning was again served to us, you helped yourself to cereal and then the full english was served, Bacon, Egg, Sausage, Beans and Tomatoes and Toast.

Overall it was a very nice stay and if we were in the area again would not hesitate to book this hotel.

Olly

“A Nice Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This is a very nice hotel with lovely bedrooms and very friendly staff. Only stayed there for 1 night and had dinner in the restaurant which was well cooked and very tasty. The breakfast was also really good. The hotel is about 25 minutes walk to the town centre and about 20 minutes walk to Bradford City football ground. Would definitely go there again.

“Home from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

A lovely homely hotel on the outskirts of Bradford. Privately owned, the staff are welcoming
and very accommodating. Nothing appears too much for them. From the very efficient and
pleasant receptionists (Sharon & Kath) to Neil & Nicola behind the bar, all go the extra mile
to make your time with them not only value for money, but the nearest to being a home from home experience as can be possible. Mara & her 2 sons (Ned & Neb) + Sharon & Kath have the knack of making each person feel important to them & always go the extra mile to ensure that nothing is too much to ensure your stay is a happy event. Most will even get their bags carried to their room by the ever jovial Neil. Aunty & Uncle who look after most of the
breakfast needs are a really lovely couple & continue the personal touch. The restaurant provides food of a very high quality @ extremely competitive prices & the chefs are always on hand to help on none menu items where possible. A thoroughly warming experience & having stayed with them for 6 months, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended. Trevor

“School Reunion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

In November each year for several years, I have attended our school reunion at the Dubrovnik. I stay overnight with my wife and other family members who also attended the same school. The rooms are clean and adequate for an overnight stay. Approximately 100 ex pupils have evening dinner which has always been well prepared and well served, not an easy task. The staff are welcoming and cordial. The breakfast is very good.

“Good hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived two hours prior to check in time but were allowed to have our room. The room was freezing cold until we activated the electricity with the door key, and then took about 45 mins to heat up. We ate in a very good Thai restaurant which was about 10 mins walk away (turn right out of hotel and right again at main road). There was also an Italian next door to the Thai restaurant and a pub across the road.
Our room allocation was directly above the function room and as there was a party night on we asked to be moved just before retiring. This was done without any argument.
Breakfast was the only let down. Very poor buffet selection and the full English had been kept warm for some time. It was either dried out or congealed. This was surprising since it was only 9 o’clock and there was only a family of four eating as well.
We didn’t see another member of staff between leaving the dining room and checking out so we were unable to report this.
