Parking here was easy as there is a small pay and display car park right behind Trents that only charges until 5pm (so in our case, staying on a Friday and arriving at 5'ish, it meant only paying £2 for the 9-11am the next day, which you could pay the night before avoiding the hassle of having to go out early to avoid a ticket)
The standard of the room itself was very good, with quality furnishings and linen (bed was a little soft, but thats down to personal taste)
Fridge provided with complimentary mineral water and orange juice though I did feel that as the room was a double 2 of each would have been a nice touch - a lot of heat came from the fridge which in September made the room quite hot at night
Room had a wall mounted LCD TV that was a little small (I'd estimate 14") which made it a bit of a squint from the bed, not helped by the signal being poor - at the cost of these rooms one would expect Sky, or possibly Freeview as an absolute minimum though the TV only had Channels 1 -4!.
Decent shower (monsoon style, quite powerful) athough in the morning this was actually cold!) and a HUGE wash basin - quality toileteries provided.
Breakfast was excellent, decent eggs that I would guess were free range judging by the nice yellow yolks - breakfast seemed popular with the locals which is always a good sign.
Most of the above is positive, but now comes the downside, which for me (and my good lady) was a killer.
By staying in accommodation attached to a wine bar you expect noise (especially on a Friday night, as in our case) and expect to get peace after about 11'ish when the place shuts
However, it would seem Trents is a bit "clubby" as the bass from the (extremely loud) music reverberated through the floor and was a little beyond the pale - as this is marketed as luxury accommodation (in our case - as we stayed Goodwood revival weekend - the price was a not too small £170)
There may be those that feel I'm being a tad harsh with the above, and that is quite possible
However, it does not stop there - as Trents is in a conservation building, it would appear its covered by listing rules that prevent double glazing and the original sash single glazed windows are in place which was a problem with a main street right outside the window wi h a bus stop sat literally outside our room (number 1 if you wish to avoid it!)
So, we had the noisy, gobby drunks late at night until around 2am and then we were woken nice and early (6'ish) by all the lorries turning up with deliveries for the shops - absolute nightmare.
Obviously the above is totally out of the Trent's control, I just put it here to make people aware as I feel its something you need to know if, like us, you are a light sleeper.
Particularly if you intend attending Goodwood Festival of Speed (or Revival) this would not be the place to get a relaxing nights sleep after a hard day.
Couldn't fault the actual room, cleanliness of the entire place, food or the staff - all very nice but not enough to make up for lack of sleep in a room that was premium priced for what was basically bed and breakfast (as there are no facilities over and above that) - price needs to come down to the £80-100 mark, possibly £120 on a Goodwood weekend.
