This was our first visit to the Old Chapel Forge in Lagness near Chichester. We stayed in the old chapel itself (highly recommend). From the start we found the hosts (Sandra and Charlie) very helpful. My partner booked the visit with no problems. After speaking to Sandra on the phone and booking the room we received a detailed email outlining how to get to Lagness. This was really helpful travelling from the midlands as we took the recommended M40/A34/M3 route via Portsmouth and thus avoided the nightmare that is the M25.
On arrival we met Charlie who from the start was friendly and helpful with settling us into our room in the Old Chnapel. What a room! There is a patio outside (which we used straight away) as it was thankfully sunny on arrival. The room is large with a sofa and comfortable bed and separate bathroom with bath and shower which is well stocked with all sorts of products (not just your standard bar of soap and towel here). There is a fridge which came in very handy and also a large selection of hot and cold drinks and a TV/DVD player and radio in the room.
Each morning was a pleasure. Breakfast with a fantastic selection on offer, slow cooked and very filling. Great conversation with Charlie and Sandra who were always happy and smiling in the morning and very helpful when trying to sort out where we were going to visit in the day or options for food in the evening. Travelling in the local area by car is very easy with access to Chichester, Bognor, Pagham, The Witterings, Goodwood and the rest of the South Downs.
Small selection of animals at the Old Chapel aswell, Geese, Labrador and who can forget Alfie the cat!
Overall an excellent holiday for us and no complaints at all. Mike and Liz Reid.
