This was just for a one night stopover to see my family nearby, you have to go into the pub to get keys and sign in, the rooms are at the back of the pub car park, which was good as well away from the road noise, the walls are thin and there is noise between the rooms.
The rooms are very basic and not very bright, but OK for what you pay, would not be keen to stay for to long, you have to pay a deposit for the remote for the tv in the room, which I felt was a bit odd, and gave an indication of the previous guests!!
Overall this would be Just Ok if you were out all day and just wanted to pitch up and shower for the night, on a redeeming note the breakfast was great and filling, it also has free parking outside, but not a lot going on in Fishborne

Checked in by a nice chap who just went through the motions of showing us around. No personallity. We books a double and 2 single rooms and there was problems with each. Found the rooms basic but largish and they may have tried to beautify them by putting fresh flowers in each about 3 weeks earlier so the flowers were dead & there was no water in the vases &or smelly old water which made the rooms smell. The bathroom towels were thread bare with frayed edges and the toilet roll holder was behind the toilet out of reach. A shower was too high to reach and sprayed over the floor. A TV didn't work properly and stuck on one channel as the remote was broken. The heaters all seemed dangerous only just hanging on the walls, one didn't work and the replacement one was the as bright as daylight and could be left on at overnight in the middle of December. Tried to go and get dinner at the pub but when we tried to open the front door it was locked. When a staff member came to the window to say they were closed she was grumpy as sin and couldn't be less helpful. Do yourself a big favour don't stay here.

Cannot emphasise what a mistake any of you will make if you try to book a room in this poor establishment.
In spite of booking a year in advance for a room for self and family over Goodwood Revival weekend our reservation (confirmed in writing by Laterooms.com ) was not honoured and the staff could not have been less interested! Having now read other reviews, perhaps our dash to Comfort Inn ,Arundel was the better option.
If you are considering The Woolpack ,Chichester for anything, DON'T you will regret it.

I stayed for one night and found it a perfectly adequate place to stay.

The gent who checked me in was courteous and friendly and more than happy to offer me advice on the best walking route into Chichester (very easy, takes about 20 mins).

The room was small and basic, but clean which is all one wants for a short overnight trip.

Breakfast was better than I expected with a range of cereals, toast, fresh fruit, tea and coffee and despite it being a little bit over greasy there was a good choice of hot food also.

For a quick overnight trip to the area I'd not hesitate to stay at the Woolpack again.
